The ship docked early and we went off as soon as we could. There were few people around and I dont know whether this was because of the recession or because it was early in the season. The sun was out so strolling around the shops with no crowds was a pleasure. I bought a lovely handbag for only 10 euros. We also walked down the medieval streets of the Knights of St.John of Jerusalem and visited the archaeological museum , which is small but contains some lovely statues. In the afternoon we walked to the nearby marina and old city walls and bought shells from boats loaded with really interesting shells and sponges.
We didnt have time to travel out of the town but apparantly Lindos is worth a visit.
