Late lunch venueLate lunch venueLate lunch venue

Enjoyed a late lunch at this restaurant. Seems everyone eats outside
Eager to get out and have a look we want for a wander in the area around our hotel. We are in an area called Psiri. The neighbourhood looks a bit of a shambles actually. I don't think there is one wall without graffiti on it. The odd thing is most of it is tags and where there are words, they are all in English! How weird is that? The only Greek I have seen is on formally prepared road signs or shop signs. It is all a shame as these people live among history in a daily basis. I couldn't think that you could live here and not notice the acropolis or many other ruins right there in front of you. There is an 11th century church in good repair right in the middle of the street!

The other thing we have noticed is that smoking is an acceptable activity in eating areas and bars etc. (there were 2 fellows smoking in the taxi line at the airport). what we have not seen a lot of is the use of smartphones in groups of people. Most people are in large groups having loud conversations (and much laughter) or they

It seems this structure is visible no matter where we wander
are a couple who are more interested in each other than the phone. Smoking BAD, communication GOOD.

Had a rest late in the afternoon and went out at 930 pm for dinner. There were more people gathered in this area than I thought would be possible. It was about abut of a crush. We had a great evening people watching., Trying the local beer and eating yummy Greek food. The area at night is so lovely.
