First day in Germany, emoying the sunshine
19th May

8.30am
I am waiting for the ICE train which will take me to Göttingen. Quite cool here, overcast and everyone has a large suitcase and seems to be going somewhere. The coffee shops around the station sell huge doughy pretzels, which are covered in chunks of rock salt and are served plain and cold. So that and a very average cappuccino were my introduction to German cuisine.
11am
Dan met me at the Göttingen train station, we walked into the Old City which is full of shops and has a central market place. The spring flowers were out and people were enjoying the sunshine. We managed to get my luggage onto a local bus and went to Dan's apartment in Nickolausberg. It is next to a small park with a small supermarket very close by.
