Us and our bikes
Today we decided we were sick of walking around towns so we hired bikes... they are NOTHING like New Zealand bike... kind of like the bike I had when I was about 12 but it was a nice cushioned seat. Steve and Nicole got baskets added to the back of their bikes. We biked to the other side of town – it is a lot easier biking in Munich because they have such large bike lanes which are part of the footpaths instead of the road. We arrived at Nymphenburg Palace and Gardens and had a look round, there were two couples having wedding photos while we were there too. We also biked to their Summer Festival that started yesterday and locked the bikes up and walked around. We stayed for lunch and sat in the sun to eat it... 15 minutes later I was rather fried but it has faded by now! We were caught out in the rain again today so we took shelter and waited about half an hour then started riding back to the bike hire place only to discover we were biking the wrong way (apparently Nicole wasn't too impressed by that!) We had decided earlier

Steve and his 1 litre beer!
on in the morning that we wanted to go on a beer challenge tour so we met along with about 20 others at the train station at 6pm (we ran out of time to have dinner first so that was not a good start!). After we signed up and paid we were given our first beer to drink... while in a public place and we walked out onto the street with it too (it was very weird and I felt so naughty!). Next place we got to we were the last table to have our order taken and our tour guide challenged our table to be the first to put in an order for a 1l of beer instead of the 500ml like everyone else... of course Steve took on the challenge and he roped in another guy at our table too! It was a great night and we made lots of new friends from England, Norwich (outside of England), a Brazilian (who is madly in love with Nicole and is now stalking her... Steve's fault), Germans and Australians. Our last stop was at a bar attached to a Youth Hostel... It was a great night and by the time
