On a dull but dry morning we drove another 350k north east to Lubeck, a German city we wanted to visit last year but didn’t have time. As we arrived at the camper stop which was conveniently situated a short bus ride from the old town, it started to rain.
We had meant to watch the cup final but couldn’t get a signal so instead braved the wet weather and went into Lubeck. The old town is situated on an island ringed by the Trave River which has been canalised. We got our bearings and sheltering under our umbrella, visited some of the sights including Marienkirk which is brick built like most of the churches in the city and one of the largest in Germany. We retreated from the rain into a pleasant restaurant situated in an old mill by the river.
The rain continued all evening and into the night.
