German Pub
You heard it here first. A german pub, badly photoed from my position of eating. Drink in that decour at least though! Hamburg is and or was apparently a massive port trading city which made its wealth via ocean trade down along the elbe. Originally founded by christians, building a fort called The Hammerburg, which was intened to convert the Vikings to christianity..lol, good luck =P. The vikings kinda liked it but instead burnt down the castle 9 times lol. Other than that hamburg got pounded in WW2 and had a massive fire..otherwise it is just a lovely town nestled against a massive lake and the river elbe.
Dinner first night as german as it gets. A guy dressed up as a sailer singing german swaying songs, intermixed with bouts of ein prosit, then jumping to german folkised version of all your faviourite hits like sex bomb. It was hilarious. It was just what we were looking for for our last stay in Germany. Over the top amounts of Germany-ness. So our entainement sorted, some snitzel on our plate and a 1L beer in hand and i dont know what we could do to be more german. I put some videos up, you can even see them some people swaying and i finally captured some of the ein prosit cheers i mentioned
Suss bar
This pretty much summs up the Reeperbahn aka Hmburgs Red light district. in Munich =). The videos are pretty poor though so only download if you have the bandwidth and the boredom to kill.
After our delicious meal it was out to the Reeberbahn!! I was scared to say the least. It is one of the most intense party districts i have ever seen plus it is mingled with a brutal Red Light District to boot!. The girls are mental, they just blatantly walk up and say 'come upstairs' to which ill stammer something whitty like 'yea sure, i just gotta call my mum and ask if its cool, oh wait she said its not' or 'me and my friend here are gay....and we are saving ourselves for marriage too soooooo, yeaaaa'. Then we got to see, what i am assuming is some under cover cops kneeling on the necks of dudes. Then we just wandered and stuck our noses in a few places until we met up with Strezlecki's local informant (aka CG's local that he knew lol), Sandra. We ended up rocking visiting what i thought was a nice Irish pub, until i went downstairs and found a fricking massive underground rave discotechque wish freaked me out. It was
Warehouse district
From back in the days of ye olde wooden ships, these puppies housed goods. huge....and packed...and chocking with smoke. Uncooool. But saturday nights here are rediculous. Party starts around 01:00 am wtf, all the way through until like 6 when you got to the fisch markt where u can keep on drinking and there is live bands and food and stuff. Bleedin' nutters.
Next day we sleept till like 4 >.<. Didnt do much really active and since we were rocking the night shift, we went out for a dance with Sandra. The reeberbahn is opposite of what it used to be on sat. It was deeeead. we ended up finding a boogy lounge and attacked with full force!!! Slept until like 3 again the next day >.< Washing day for me and a hunt for an english book store for the Neutronian alchemist (part 2 of 3 from The nightsdawn saga, sci fi horror from Peter F. Hamilton, ussome). Failed on the book, passed clothes. Home to BED! Tuesday..... did the walking tour (New Europe offcourse) then checked out the hamburg dungeon, which was enjoyable dispite being in german lol. I love the whole interactive theatre thing we you walk through various rooms and they theme them on various grizlly aspects of
Nice River
Niceish photo of the elbe river the cities history with some instense, at least sounding. A quick stop over at a beach bar on the Elbe on the way home for a few drinks with our roomates at the hostel then bed (it was Sandra's b'day so it was for her =) .
Up relatively early for a run to the harbour, then went with two lovely ladies from our room for a nice pedal boat out on the lake. It was coooool.
We didnt know where we were headed next though. We had a plan to meet Sandy on the 10th of May in Oslow so we ended up opting for heading over to the UK and tick some of the boxes over their. Hopefully the GBP wont take us to task too badly. So we celebrated our last night in Germany with a PC (pub crawl you will remember). It was the weirdest PC ever. I think i expected alot from the saturday night we experienced but it was a wednesday and it was small, turned out to be a bit boring but, but dont worry, you can share in the boredom by reading this...suckers!!....
Well...off to London then =)
Much Love,
Macho-less
