so we are leaving munich this morning. i tried to figure out how to add pictures but i couldnt and we catch the train in a little bit so i dont have time. i will read up on the how to on the train so pics should be coming soon. yesterday in munich was fun. we went to dachau concentraion camp. it was the first concentration camp used by the nazis and was originally opened in 1933. So it was in use well before WWII oficially started. We were all really glad we went because it was so informative and interesting, but it was also scary and sad at the same time. a good experience anyways. later we went to the English Gardens. it is a huge park in central munich and it is about 3x as big as central park in NY. it was huge. there is a river that runs through it and a permanent wave that people actually surf. i got pics so you can see later. then we went to the nude beach. there was a bunch of people there but only one guy that was nude but it made ton really happy. he tried to talk us into getting naked but vin and i werent having it. but there were some bongo drums and a couple of different groups of people all sitting around and singing songs. we all thought it reminded us of the bongos in fairhaven. the hippies in bham were way better then the german hippies. we also visited the allianz arena, which is the soccer arena built in 2001 for the upcoming world cup which germany is hosting next summer. the arena was cool. it was built like a soccer ball and kind of looks like one from far away. it also is the home field of the two pro teams here and at night lights up in different colors, depending on which team is playing. all the locals love it and think it is so special, but it is anything different than safeco or qwest field. cool to see nonetheless. also, we have met so many people from washington in munich. the first night a girl came up to vin and i cause we were wearing tshirts that said puyallup and mercer island. she was from seattle and went to college in vancouver, bc. then the next day we met someone from bham that was cousins with a guy named mikey that we used to kick it with our first couple of years in college. and today we met someone from ferndale, which is right outside bham. crazy small world. anyways, we are off to venice this morning so i will update later. hope all is well with everyone. late
