Oktoberfest and Austria

After our last week of intensive italian we went grape picking in tuscany and had a BBQ at a house one weekend.. Then after our first week of our regular classes... we had our first weekend away from our house. We decided to get a big group together and go to Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany!! I absolutely fell in love with Germany! It is such a great country and Munich was absolutely amazing!! We took a night train on Thursday night and woke up in Munich on Friday morning, went to the festival for Friday which was fun! and then we did some shopping and sightseeing in Munich!! It was pretty rainy this day so it wasn't that great but it was still exciting to be in the city!!

On Saturday my friend Katrin and I split up from our group and went to a little town called Garmisch in Germany. This town was in a valley surrounded by mountains from the Alps! It was soo much fun!! We walked around the town and took a gondola up to the top of the mountain where we had a panoramic view of the Alps!! It was amazing. After that, we took a train to a city called Innsbruck in Austria!! This was a great city with the mountains around it as well and a little part of it called Old Town which was cute. Our train was delayed on Sunday due to a strike in Italy so we did some more sightseeing throughout the city! We went to the Imperial Palace and a castle in the hills called Ambras with lots of different things. We finally left Austria Sunday night at 11 and got into Florence at around 6 in the morning on Monday----and then had to go to class at 9 in the morning!! That was crazy but we had such a good time!
