Our First Free Weekend in Italy!

We decided to stay central to our city since it was only a two day weekend so we took a train to Cinque Terre on Saturday morning! Cinque Terre is a beautiful coastal region named for its three unique cities/towns lining the coast. They are all only accesible by train or by foot. We stayed in Rio Maggiore, the first coastal city, which was absolutely gorgeous! We had an ocean view from our hotel room high up in the town and got to swim around the rocks in the Mediterranean! The next day on Sunday we hiked all the way to Vernazza, the fourth city on the coast. This hike was really pretty since it was all along the coast...but it was 8 miles up and down hill which absolutely KILLED me. I ended up taking the short 4 minute train from Vernazza to Monterossa instead of taking the 1 hour hike. All of these cities were SOO pretty since they were right on the water and not so big. I had soo much fun this weekend just relaxing from our intensive italian week! Molto bello!!
