Munich

Another early start and this time we're off to Munich in Bavaria. The weather was horrible. It was raining and raining hard. From Heidelberg to Munich took about 4 hours in our coach. We did a mini pit stop and we reached Munich just after 12pm, just in time for lunch.
We had a quick look around and our guide said some buildings were bombed in WWII and when they were reconstructed, they were not as good as the original. This was certainly the case, we saw a lot of buildings with fantastic architecture on the outside and right next door were very simple buildings.
I thought Munich was busy. Lots of people around however it is not as busy as Sydney. We had a look around in various department stores - very similar to Sydney - imagine Myer but in German, and some specialist stores. Prices in there were quite steep I thought.
Anyway after browsing, we tried some of the local specialties. We entered a shop that looked like a deli. We tried the currywurst and we thought it was great. Basically a sausage cut in pieces and drowned in curry sauce served with chips. We tried the

Where we stopped - can't remember either Schokobret - a pretzel with chocolate throughout the pretzel. That was really yummy. I don't get why German cafe shops don't have them, not even pretzels. If they did, I'd be there everyday. For our last piece of lunch, we tried the Wiener Schitzel. Again, this was really yummy. As I said "Danke" to the waitress, she cracked a smile, probably laughing at me trying her language.
After lunch, we headed back to make our way to Innsbruck....which had an interesting night!
