We are now back in Briare after having a very busy summer and autumn cruising season. This year we did over 2600 klms and 518 locks. From Lyon we went all the way up the Saone and Petite Saone , the Canal des Vosges to Nancy and then along The Canal Marne au Rhine to Strasbourg . We then turned around and went all the way back along the Marne and canals to Paris, spending a few weeks in the Champagne area where we retrieved Tilly the Van and toured whilst the canals were closed for maintenance. We are in the process of writing a more descriptive and informative narrative of this part of our trip and will publish in due course.

Turning left at Paris we went up the Seine for a couple of days and then turned off onto the Canals du Loing and Briare. These two canals are lovely with loads of stopping places.

We have decided to put Vintage Cru up for sale and head back to Australia for a few years and think of something else to do for a change.

Vintage Cru will be listed with a Broker in France after Xmas and advertised in Australia and New Zealand on sale for €28500 or equivalent in Aussie $. What a bargain! We are open to offers and are happy to negotiate a reduced price for a quick sale before this. (We do have stay on board until all the quarantine rules for importing Yeti into Australia have been met which should be by the end of January) We would even consider selling part shares in her if there was enough interest. We noticed that shares in smaller older less equipped boat tend to be sold for between $10 to $15 k per fifth share! Also Tilly the van is for sale for €6000.00

If you know of anyone who might be interested get them to email us for details, photos, cost benefit analysis etc. We are more than happy to spend time advising on the costs and everything required for cruising in France to potential buyers. It is an exceptionally cheap means of seeing lots of a beautiful country.

What are you going to do for the next couple of Years?
