Ready for take off!
Bon Jour!!

Apologies for the delay in doing the blogs - damn technology and lethargy.... 😊

We left home on 7th August and met the man from Lexus who take the car offsite and will meet us on our return at the airport - great free service they provide. We moved through the airport very quickly and not long before we took off for Seoul - about 10 hours or so for the flight. On our arrival there we were met and taken to the Hyatt Regency hotel for the night as guests of Korean Air, who also provided dinner and breakfast before taking us all the way back to the airport.... approx. 5 minutes away. The food on the plane was really good and we watched a few movies, ate and slept the time away.

Dinner at the Hyatt was quite different - a huge place with about 7 interconnecting very modern restaurants, concrete slab type of construction- up and down one or three steps everywhere - very unusual place.

We thought we would have a glass of wine with our dinner so ordered the half bottle of NZ Sav Blanc - cost 48000 won -

A bit of the Seoul airport from the A380
would you believe the equivalent of $A76!!!!! No, it wasn't that good.

Our flight from Seoul to Paris was 11.5 hours - we flew in the new A380 - what an amazing plane - it was just so quiet and seemed to just glide through the skies. We found there was a cocktail bar - the Absolut Celestial Bar - so off we went and tried their cocktails - very nice! We enjoyed flying Korean Airlines and also the people in Seoul - we felt they were very accommodating and efficient in everything they do - they are very hospitable people. We liked Seoul and are looking forward to staying there for a few days on our way back home.

We had a great view of Seoul on both landing and taking off and it looks pretty interesting and a bit like Hong Kong with their white skyscrapers as far as you can see.

We arrived in Paris at around 6pm at night, still daylight and went for a wander after dropping our gear into our apartment. We're staying at the Citadines Apart- Hotel Prestige Saint-Germain-des-Pres Paris, on the left bank. The Seine is across the road
