This is a hip area. Exclusive shops, high fashion types parading about , trying to create their own look, but really all looking similar. We’ve all done that at some stage. It is a very cool area.

This market hall was named after the first inhabitants of the site, the Knights Templar

Now a modern cultural centre, this Hall is on land originally owned by the Knights Templar, who had a walled community there and were relatively autonomous in how they operated.The French Revolution forced them into exile, and the French Royal Family were held in the cellar, awaiting execution. It was also where Jews had to report to, to have their passports stamped ‘Jew’.

Directly across the road from a veterinarian, convenient, we were surprised to see so many Australians birds and animals, obviously stuffed.

Unfortunately Paris is now ultra conscious of its vulnerability and soldiers with machine guns are a common sight in high profile areas. You are also searched and scanned at most places of interest you visit.

I’m not sure the Camino wasn’t more civilised. Paris is pretty nice though.
