Versailles trip

Saturday night we finally went to see "Sex and the City" and it was fantastic. i hang out with three other girls and we make up the perfect foursome of sex and the city characters. we stopped to have a glass of wine at a cafe on our way home, and talked about the movie, relationships and girl stuff and felt like the characters right out of the movie! (minus the fact none of us could afford a pair of jimmy choos)

Sunday started off early as we met our group to visit Versailles. It was so beautiful and Jena and I decided this would be our summer home when we just needed to get away from the city and our lovely home the Louvre. every room we walked through had different characteristics, and was covered in color and decoration. every ceiling had elaborate paintings and guilding which covered every inch of it. I however was more drawn to the gardens and fountains more than anything on the property.
we decided to take row boats out on the lake and that was absolutely hilarious. i have video of us out there but am not sure if i can upload it on here. i decided to lay in the back of the boat and pretend to be marie antoinette, and demanded the others on my boat serenade me. one of the guys from my group started singing little mermaid songs, and soon our entire boat was singing and everyone on the shore line was staring and pointing at the americans. it didnt help that we also prefered to face forward instead of the traditional backwards rowing technique, so we stuck out like a sore thumb in the middle of the lake and really didnt care...
our little group walked over to marie antoinettes seperate estate, and layed in her gardens all afternoon sunbathing, playing games, and just talking. it was a perfect afternoon and a girl like me could get use to this...
