Today was a power touring day for us, we began in the champs élysées and the arc de triomphe. Have to say that this was our least favorite area we visited, It is beautiful, but very upscale and not really the kind of thing we enjoy, it reminded me of times square. Well with a little more class:) We decided that we would not come back here for the new years eve fireworks as we need to be up at 3am to catch our flight to Africa. We were very glad the we made the decision to stay in a much older more quaint area with the amazing little artisan stores and cool coffee shops and pubs everywhere. Here is the final blog from my 2007 journey. It is set in Paris (despite what the tag says). Due to an unfortunate accident with my photos I only have the ones from the first part of my time in Paris – The gargoyles of Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, and all of the other nice photos are gone. After eleven months on the road I was on my way home. I was tired and I needed a break from the free, roving life.
