Dormans can be reached, if you leave the overcrowded center of Reims using the D980 direction Paris. There you will find the peace you seek and a wounderful view over the valley of the Marne. A small camping site near the river gives a cheap ability to stay. Dormans has a small nice old church, a French-German war cemetry and the french memorial of the "wonder of the marne" from 1914. The memorial widely visible on a hill southern to the village is a honorous building. Constructed like a Church it reminds of the past cruelty of the war.
