Sunday 18th May 2014 Rags has already changed his mind a couple of times about continuing this ride, he is probably worrying too much about Judy. He has realised that tiredness has caught up with him and that a 2 day break will do him a lot of good. We arrived at the Staroměstský Penzion, which was only a short distance from where we were and within 50m of the restaurant we had dinner at last night, at about 0930. Čau! Here’s just a quick little update about last weekend’s adventure. Last Wednesday was Emily’s, one of the Fulbright exchange teachers from Washington state, birthday, so over the weekend, I went to the city she’s living in, Tábor, to visit, celebrate, and see another Bohemian city. It was an absolutely beautiful city and a fun weekend overall. On Friday, I set out on my crazy train journey to Tábor, which is Czech for “camp,” since it was originally an army campsite. If I were simply to drive there, it would take me about an hour. However, the train connection between Havlíčkův Brod and Tábor isn’t exactly the greatest, and so it took me about four hours. I first went from Havlíčkův Brod to Jihlava, then from Jihlava to Horní Cerekev, and from Horní Cerekev to Tábor. ... read more

Haven't managed to find an internet connection since leaving Prague until now, and I'm now well immersed in the spirit of travelling - which to m, amongst other things, entails getting bored of places as soon as possible and going somewhere else, which most people find very strange. I had an epic last night in Prague, not being able to sleep again, I went for a drink at the bar round the corner (the owner of which informed me that people who mix becherovka and coke are weird), and then to the club next to the hostel where they were hosting a free event as a warm up for the "summer of love" festival in pardubice - which I'm now interested in trying to go to sometime, as it looks like glade but about 5 times ... read more
