Beginning our assent to the castle So, it was Prague day! After an extraordinarily exhausting week of working my butt off, I got up at 6 AM the next morning to meet everyone at the bus that would take us to Prague. It took about two hours, and the ride over was very beautiful- tons of hills and mountains and sandstone. We met Jamie at the bus/train station and started off towards Prague Castle, walking up the back entrance which was a lot of steps but really cool. The view was amazing! And, of course, we saw the window where the Defenestration of Prague happened which started a war, because pushing people out of windows is cool lmao.
We saw two churches, St. George's and the Cathedral, which looked like Vegnagun from Final Fantasy X-2, I swear. We went through some of the buildings with our passes but they didn't allow photography in all of them unless you paid for it. The most confusing part of Prague was Czech Republic not being on the Euro, so we had to convert our money to crowns. Trying to work out conversions in my head was crazy. Prague streetview because he was Czech! So I got a cute little journal and a bookmark. 😊
We hit up the street by the Absinthe store (the other girls got absinthe ice cream, haha) and had some traditional goulash for lunch, which was SO AMAZING OMG FOODGASM IN MY MOUTH. And then we set out again for the big bridge, which was a massive tourist trap but was covered in statues and vendors. There was one statue where people were rubbing for good luck, but there were so many people around it that we couldn't really get close. We saw some stores and headed off towards the old town square, where the famous sun clock is.
Every hour, the clock goes off and these little saints dance around when it opens, and there's a guy with a trumpet at the top of the tower and then a guy dressed like a king comes out and waves at everyone. So Jamie and I got some gelato and waited around to see that, which was pretty funny. There was a huge festival going on for gorilla preservation, I think? We weren't sure, but there was a ton of stuff happening. We watched

Getting closer to the castle some traditional dancers from both Czech and Slovak traditions, and listened to some folk music, and then it was time to head off towards the Muzeum building/train stop again.
After we got back, Jamie and I went into old downtown Dresden and I showed her around and we took some hilarious pictures. Her camera has most of them, unfortunately, so I'll have to steal them later on so they can forever be preserved. It's nice being with my girls on this trip but it's so much better having my best friend here. 😊
