Morning: This morning, I mean dawn, I was woken up by the sounds of cornflakes in a bowl and realised it´s Miguel getting ready to go to class. Anyway, it´s too early to register anything in my brain yet...Then after abt an hour, he´s back from class and we are still not up yet at 10+am! Lazybums! Managed to get up finally and slowly got ready to step out of his flat to the town center, which is like, a few steps more. Haaa...the carnival at the square is still going on but we decided to go get a nice coffee at the Cross Cafe first before going over to join the crowd.
Afternoon: Great cafe and we sat there for a while as I watched the 2 origami experts start to fold the paper into cranes and balloons...-_-¨We went to the square to view the action and it´s still pretty early so we decided to visit the Jewish Synagogue. It´s no longer in use ever since the Holocaust and it´s one of the largest Synagogue in Europe. Beautiful interiors and it resembles a bit like a Muslim mosque and also a church. We walked around quietly and it´s jus
wasted that this beautiful synagogue is deserted. We started out again and since it´s time for Mig to attend his lecture and we got nothing else planned, we decided to join him for class. He said it´s a lecture and it shldn´t be a problem so we sat in. The lecture was held in a classroom instead of a hall and when we reached there, there was nobody...only 3 of us and the lecturer was kind to let us join in, although he will shoot some medical questions to us suddenly and made us alert. Luckily a couple came in in time to save us from getting too much attention so finally there were 5 of us in the lecture about Acute Appendicitis. The class took 2 hours and I was pretty tired after that, feels like the old days...we got to chat w the couple from the class and although it was short, we had a great chat especially when the guy is a New Zealander and the gal from Portugal. We took the bus back to town cos we were really hungry by then, it´s already 5pm! Met another fren of Mig and yes, he´s from Portugal too,
had a quick chat w him on the bus and we headed down back to the carnival for late lunch. So many choices to eat so I bought 3 types of food and started eating...they all taste super! After the hearty lunch, we decided to take a stroll around and end up looking for the evasive Jewish memorial place that is secretly tucked behind a small door that opens up to a big backyard. This Holocaust project is called ´Write a name´or something like that, where each student will have a rock and they wrote a name that was involved in the Holocaust and they all placed the stones in a wooden area on the floor. Took some pics there and we went back to the square again for a short walk before going back to the supermarket to grab some more food to cook for our host tonite.
Night: Time to start cooking and we had a fun time doing that w video cam and cameras involved in it. By the time we finished everything it was about 9+pm already and Miguel was getting suspicious of our food cos we kept asking him to try and adding some
of our own seasoning in it. I told him we put arsenic in the food and within 9 steps from the dining table, he will be dead so pls go ahead and try the food. That´s where the whole ´assassination´joke started and the story became more bizarre that it ended up on our CS profile...now I wonder why our other hosts let us eat what we cooked first before eating them... :oP Thanks Miguel! After the nice dinner, while everyone´s still alive, we decided to watch another movie again and this time (I chose again!) it´s Trade. My lovely ex-neighbour & colleague had recommended me to watch it and yes, it´s a good one and pretty strong storyline about the human-trafficking situation in Mexico. Very poignant to think about their lives as compared to yours while you complained about the most mundane stuffs while people so much younger than u are are experiencing a never-ending nightmare. Well, a great way to end the night and we went to sleep shortly after.
