Morning: Today we will be leaving to another place called Brloh further south of Czech Rep and this is another time I feel reluctant to leave cos we had such a great time here! The first time was in Berlin and then now in Plzen cos both times, our hosts were superb and we had a fantastic time, regardless of where we are or the sights we see, it´s really the host that matters to us. And i´m especially touched when they would shift their original schedules to spend more time w us. So this time round, Mig changed his afternoon classes around to accompany us before we leave. I woke up jus before he came back from his morning classes and we got ready to go out for a short while before coming back to pack our bags.
Afternoon: First up, we walked to the nearest supermarket to return and recycle the beer bottle and then I wanted to go look for a statue of puppets which we (actually it´s jus me) missed the couple of times we walked past the park. So we went there and started taking lots of pics of it (actually it´s jus me again)...Till
now, the weather has been very sunny and hot so we continued on to the markt square and lie on the bench to catch about 10mins of sunlight which was good cos I´m getting pretty fair due to no sunlight exposure ever since we arrived here in Europe. Now i understand why the Europeans like to travel to our side so often and lie at the beach till they are burnt, they want to make up for lost time w the sun. Then quite suddenly, the sky turned cloudy and chilly so we decided to go for a big lunch feast as promised by our host. He brought us to the restaurant where they serve pork knuckles and so we ordered lots of food and ate till we are really full. Somehow in the middle of the lunch, it started pouring outside and it was still drizzling when we finished and left the restaurant. The last thing we had to do is to climb the church tower in the middle of the markt square so we went up and again climbed the never-ending staircase. When we reached the top, the sky was dark and cloudy but we still managed to
catch some nice sights up there and take lots of pics again. By then we had to leave soon to go back and pack and walk to the train station so we climbed back down and walked back to the apartment at about 2pm. Mig accompanied us to the train station and even waited w us for the train to leave so it was really nice of him to do that cos our other hosts either jus closed their doors when we leave or we leave by ourselves when they were away for work. We enacted scenes of loved ones bidding goodbye to each other on the trains like waving sadly and chatting w each other while one is on the train and the other on the platform...so drama...hahaaa...We were finally on our way to the next destination and it´s in a village called Brloh. We are supposed to take the train to Cesky Budejovice and catch a bus to the village. We reached at about 6+pm and walked to the bus station to take the bus which is a 40mins ride right to the end of the bus journey.
Night: Our host Frantisek came to the busstop to
fetch us and walked us to his home which has a very steep slope up so our backs were feeling the weight of our bags...It´s a very quiet and tucked away village and we were glad to be staying here for a few nights to recuperate from our travelling bodies. Frank showed us a room where we can sleep in and after a while introduced us to his parents who can´t speak a word of English but seemed really warm and easy-going folks. Frank´s mum, Marie immediately prepared some nice cakes and hot tea for us which we enjoyed it very much. Very soon it´s dark already and Frank was going for a drink at the nearby pub w his childhood fren cum nextdoor neighbour so he asked us to join them at abt 9pm. So after finishing the food and settling down, we walked down the slope and there´s the pub, jus about 100m from his home! All the customers in the pub are all guys and they all were staring at both of us when we came in cos i think in their village, they rarely see Asian people hanging around, even lesser in their pubs. We ordered
their local beer which is Budweiser and drank while 4 of us chatted for an hour. Frank is a student but also teaches English and sports for now to stand-in for another teacher, he also jus started to do some translating for films from English to Czech online. He´s also into travelling to the Middle East and had been to many places there like Iran. One thing special about his interests is he loves classic films, and collects films by the thousands! I´m amazed when I see his library of films! His childhood friend is a 2m tall guy who is crazy about bikes. I can´t stand beside him cos i wont be able to see him from my angle...my first time meeting a 2m tall human being!! We finished chatting at about 10pm and we walked back up to his home and said goodbye to his friend and went back to sleep...Very peaceful night indeed.
