I pad' i kapıp biraz internet yaptım… Akşamüstü 17.00 gibi otobüsüm kampın kapısının önüne geldi.. Bu nasıl luxtür ? 20/05/2011– It was a totally spur of the moment type booking thanks to Ryanair once again offering ridiculously low fares. So Hannah and I purchased return flights to Rijeka in Croatia for only £20 each, bargain! Our airport parking was more expensive. We took a couple of days off work and were on our way for a long weekend in Croatia. Our flight arrived in the tiny airport on the island Krk, in northern Croatia, once we passed through immigration (a guy at a small desk) we picked up our hire car. The Three Wise Men Back To Croatia I had travelled to Croatia and other Balkan countries a few years ago and have managed to stay in touch and become good friends with most of the group of people I met there. My Croatian friend, Sanja, has recently had a baby daughter so the three of us who still live on the same continent, myself, Emma and Jo {I think we came close to persuading one of the Canadians to come!} are going to Croatia to visit Sanja and pay homage to baby Hana. My initial plan of bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh didn’t materialise so we’ve arrived with Haribos and baby-grows. Hi there, Yesterday we went to the village of Prizid, which is the village where Nick’s mom was brought up. It was way up in the mountains, a very different country side than down in Rijeka. Prizid is very close to the Slovenia boarder. The country side reminds me of something a Switzerland would look like. The houses have stone foundations and then wood frames, where as on the coast the houses are made mostly of stone and brick. The drive up into the mountains was like driving on the old old road between Prince Rupert and Terrace, tresses on one side and cliff on the other and then add to that, switch backs . Croatia We then drove on to Rijeka in Croatia we had through Slovenia to get there. As Croatia is not in the EU we had to go though boarder control. Rijeka is on the ocean. We then drove to Ljubljana the capital of Slovenia. We stayed in a wellness hotel called harmony it was feng shui hotel. When we checked in there was a good looking girl and guy in tight short sleave purple t shirts helping us to check in when it was -6 and snowing outside. The hotel was nice with a big sport centre and Woden walls and beans and we could see kids snowboarding outside our window. ... read more
