The rain had well and truly settled in for the morning, but we wanted to go to the Garden Centre to finish off our pile of presents. Having purchased our flower (some kind of lily - I'm not very good at this kind of thing!), we walked back with it, and then made a detour to get it in without being seen! Then we all had final walks, etc. round the village and came back in time for lunch, after which there was final packing. By 3pm the luggage was down in the lobby, the presents were hidden under a table, and we had another thoroughly enjoyable meal. So, the next day, I realised I had so much preparation and sorting to do that I watched all the guests leave for their days hiking/cycling and found some time to chat to Peter about the rest of the week, and to try and get a hold on the activities that people had said they wanted to do... sorted out some signage in response! Once this was sorted, I decided to go for a look round (central) Itter, which is comprised of a handful of hotels, an outdoor swimming pool/tennis courts, a beauty parlour, a bank, a small bakery (open 7-12; 3-6, I think), a church, a castle (not available to the public), and several houses.
