So close to the end now! This weekend was my last weekend in St Lucia. On Saturday the girls and I just spent a day at Reduit beach. I spent a lot of time in the sea, and a lot of time napping in the sun. I'm definitely going to miss the beach when I'm home. Unfortunately, I managed to sun burn just my ankles. I went into the sea first, and when I came out to the sun lounger, my feet and ankles were covered in sand. I put suncream everywhere, except where the sand was stuck. I thought I'd wait for it to dry and then brush it off, then put suncream on. But then I fell asleep, and when I woke up half an hour later, the sand had fallen off and my ... read more

Saturday July 7 - Last night I got a message from Verena saying she tried to call, but Michael told her to call back at 7am. I told her I'd still be asleep with any luck, so not to bother. Of course, Michael did not know this, so he came knocking at 6:30am to tell me Verena would be calling in 30 minutes. I told him she wouldn't and went back to sleep. The door and large windows to the room - most of the building - is made with shingles or slats, so you can easily talk through the walls. I didn't even have to get out of bed to have this conversation. Fortunately, I was able to go back to sleep. Verena sent me a message saying to meet her between 12:30-1pm at Zaka's ... read more

Not your typical scuba divers accomodation! Date: November 2007 Accomodation: Ladera First Impression: West Wall is missing in each room, really? Of course it is, that is what lead to our desire to try this high end tree house for the adventurous type. Did I say adventurous type? This resort is beautiful, and if you don't stay here come for drinks at sunset as there is no better place than the hotel bar perched over a cliff facing he Pitons and glorious sea. What is a seemingly quite bar fills to capacity at dusk and you will be sipping cocktails with writers from food and wine magazine, professional photographers, and all sorts of travel tip advisors. The food here is very nice and claims to be the best resturant on the island. It is good, however, ... read more

One of the testimonials posted on Trip Advisor about Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa says “It’s not the smartest sweater in your wardrobe, but the one you love to wear”. This describes the resort to a T. Your first contact with the resort is when you are greeted by a friendly representative as soon as you exit customs at Hewanorra Airport. They introduce you to your taxi driver who whisks you to the resort in 5 minutes. A smiling group of bell hops unload your luggage while you check-in with a cold glass of champagne in hand. We were escorted to our room on the “Splash” side of the resort dedicated to families. It was just my husband and I and I was hoping for the “Harmony” side dedicated to adults only. But the receptionist ... read more

BEQUIA TO ST LUCIA Ok, where did I leave you? We spent almost a week in Bequia, we met another HR but much bigger than ours, a 53 , called Saskia. The couple, Simon and Jenny, and their teenaged children were really nice, we invited them for a drink at 5.30pm, by 1.30am we were all best friends! Next day Simon made us some wonderful rotis, it was a very enjoyable lunch. We went diving again and did the devils reef, we cleaned up the boat, did jobs, and went out again with Peter and Veronica. Did some ou work, trying to be enthusiastic. Then we had a day where it just rained all day. We sailed over to Wallibilou, and had a quiet night there, before going to St Lucia the next morning. From the ... read more
