May 19, 2009 Since we did not have internet or phone in Cedar Key, my plan to do my work at the hotel failed. My wonderful husband set me up to have my office in the car. Printer, computer, scanner, etc... worked great while he drove us to our next destination. We left Cedar Key first thing in the morning and headed to the next town that had a decent breakfast. We stopped at a Denny's restaurant in Crystal Springs, home of the manatee tours. After a yummy breakfast, we continued to Tarpon Springs where we had lived 22 years ago for about a year. Our old neighborhood on Locust Street was our first stop. We almost didn't recognize the area. Of course you would expect change in 22 years. Its funny, somehow time stands still ... read more

May 18, 2009 We woke up today filled with excitement for our trip to Florida. Just a few details to attend to and off we go! As we departed, I had an overwelming sense of separation. We were leaving our routine, our comfort zone. We frequently take trips, but this time it seemed different. We were going to Florida for at least two weeks, no real plan other then to see about work, take in the sight and explore. I also want to "purposely" remove myself from the comforts of Slidell in order to see a "bigger picture". Our first stop for the night was Cedar Key, Florida. A quaint town south of Tallahassee.
