You are a very special traveler and we love your blogs! We hope our paths will cross as we long to meet you. We love your passion for S.A. and will rely on your direction when we visit there. Hopefully, that won't be too long from know but who knows. Love the hot springs....that is one of our weaknesses. Who knows maybe we will be in some foreign land as you at some point. Happy travels.
Hot springs and meetings How perfect if we could meet and soak together! Somehow I do think we will meet. Right now my passion is SA, but for many years, I loved wandering Europe--your recent blogs had me salivating. I look forward to your Asian blogs, and I love your travel style!
Wonderful place!! It's such a wonderful place that I want to visit at once. You have beautiful pictures and nice blog. Thank for sharing your experience.
Thanks, Dancing Dave! So glad to find another aficionado of Patagonia and pleased you enjoyed my blogs. As the hot winds of Argentina's deserts blow me around, I hope I'll still "be Tara" and not "be crazy." Time will tell...
Thanks, Graciela! In over 2 years of traveling, my 2 favorite places were in Argentina and had populations of 500--Caviahue and El Chalten. I hope you get to visit them. Now, I'll be exploring northern Argentina. I love your country!
make more mistakes Tara......if publishing these pictures was a mistake, I'll take more mistakes. My favorite is the cairn. You must have bought a great camera and as always your composition is great........Bernie
Cairns and cameras Hi Bernie, so glad to hear from you! Yes, I love that cairn--it goes so well with the quote. Wandering, we sometimes see a cairn, a way-marker, leading to an unexpected surprise. I upgraded from an ultra-compact to a compact--still point and shoot. I'm lazy.
BEING TARA Life is as always tough with a very tiny t...for Tara with a capital T...gorgeous UFO sunsets...hues & pleasures...what a life! Guess someone has to do it!
Pleasure--what can be better? Thanks so much, David--that's so sweet! Yes, we travelers may have little challenges, but if rolling heavy suitcases and saying goodby to those we've come to love is the worst of it, I think we're the luckiest people in the world!
THE COLOURS OF PATAGONIA I've only been there in summer...still the vivid blues, greens & purples...but the autumn colours you captured...wow. Lanin...one of my fave volcanoes...thanks for the pics. That you are leaving Patagonia...leaving your paradise...sad for you.
Leaving Patagonia You are so right, David, leaving Patagonia is the most difficult thing I've done on this journey. However, those autumn colors were a treat I'd never seen. Glad you got to see Lanin up close and clearly!
Sure is something to see eh! I've been told about the region for many years now and have always wanted to visit. I love how you captured the autumn colours in mid May, stunning.
fall colors Glad you liked the colors, Dave and MJ! Being from a city of eternal spring with only year-around flowering trees, I get pretty excited about the reds and golds.
The road of 365 curves reminds me of the Atlas mountains in Morocco I got a bit car sick coming down the curves of that mountain road. It was beautiful but I was glad when we were finished with the curves. love those thermal pools. We may have to go check those out.
curvy roads Sorry the curves don't agree with you. I love wild, curvy mountain roads with views far below to river canyons. Lots of thermal pools in geologically tortured South America, though not as grand as your Icelandic ones!
backyard trails I've almost always been able to leave my door for a trail. Funky cabins, but great nature. That's why I'm so fussy when I have to take a bus or worse yet--a tour.
I´m a one-way ticket, slow traveler, relishing the freedom of the open road and trusting serendipity to guide my journey. When I was younger, I used to travel for a year at a time. Then a few years ago, I roamed Europe and North Africa for three and a half years and liked that even better.
On August 1st, 2010, I left my peaceful Mission Canyon paradise in Santa Barbara's mellow summer and emerged from a couple of planes a day and a world later in the teeming, sub-zero streets of Buenos Aires´winter. Now, with the Andes, Amazon and Galapagos between here and home, will three years be enou... full info
