Photo indecision Thanks, Brendan, that's so kind of you. Choosing which photos to include is truly the hardest part of putting together a blog--I'm so indecisive. Glad you liked these!
hello again Tara....it's so good to see your blogs again.....what beautiful scenery....I was down at Helga's for her 70th birthday party and saw your nice card......are you writing your book as you travel?....or does that come later?........now on to your next blog in my email......bernie
Good to hear from you, too! Hey Bernie, I guess my reward for blogging is to hear from friends again. Glad Helga had a fine party, and you were there for it. Thanks for your support--maybe a book when I'm too old to travel. Ciao!
snow person Well, Gladys, I didn't even really know snow before, but now I'm hooked. You'll probably feel more at home when I hit the Caribbean in a couple of years. Happy travels!
BEAUTIFUL Your blogs convey such a carefree wander through Patagonia that I think of you like a feather floating in gentle breeze...but having experienced the winds in Patagonia...I'm still pondering an appropriate analogy...maybe your name says it best...so it is simply..."being Tara Cloud".
Clouds Thanks, Dave, you are such a poet! And yes, I've always felt like a cloud--most of the time floating gently but occasionally blowing wild like the Patagonian gales.
What an amazing shot. I have an affinity for abandoned buildings, so this photo really speaks to me. They are all very good, especially the colors of the rocks; however, this one makes me want to poke my head through the windows and imagine what it was like. Great shot, great blog.
Tempting Ruins Thanks, Brendon. I totally agree with you about abandoned buildings and ruins (Pompeii was incredible!). It was so tempting to try to make it across the river and into the spa, but the ice was so slick that it kept me an honest woman.
What a view.. Dear Tara, I am still holding on to your 3 chairs..no problem for now..When do you think you might return? There is so much aesthetics in your photos ...it is breathtaking. Best, Liz
Return? Glad you're able to use my chairs, Liz. To be honest, I don't know when I'll return. I thought I'd make it back in three years, but it's already been two and I'm only in central Argentina. Time seems rather elastic these days. Hope you're enjoying concerts at the Lobero--cheers!
Beautiful write-up Have fond memories of Vicunia, brought back your evocative descriptions. Is all the talk of UFOs and high energy spots like Cochijuaz now gone from the consciousness of the town? It used to be something of a New Age mecca but perhaps things have changed over time and deeper roots like those of Gabriela M remain.
Spiritual Center Still There Hi Guy, How great that you go to know Vicuna! The little town of Cochiguaz is still known as a spiritual vortex, and I'd hoped to visit it. However, there was no public transport there, and since it was low season, I wasn't able to hitch a ride. I'm so glad you made it though!
We are sitting in a pub in the Faroe Islands We are sipping a beer and waiting for our ferry in two hours to the island of Nolsoy. I have enjoyed reading your blog. Your mountain looks fantastic and we hope to add it to our must do list. ...doubt that will be soon. Love your slow approach. Keep those blogs coming.
Lucky us! Sipping a beer and waiting for a ferry--how perfect! Travelblog is so great--I get to join you on your misty islands, and you get to hike on the snowy mountains. Even though you're in the north and I'm in the south, I have the feeling we'll meet up someday and sip a beer as we wait for our ferry...
I´m a one-way ticket, slow traveler, relishing the freedom of the open road and trusting serendipity to guide my journey. When I was younger, I used to travel for a year at a time. Then a few years ago, I roamed Europe and North Africa for three and a half years and liked that even better.
On August 1st, 2010, I left my peaceful Mission Canyon paradise in Santa Barbara's mellow summer and emerged from a couple of planes a day and a world later in the teeming, sub-zero streets of Buenos Aires´winter. Now, with the Andes, Amazon and Galapagos between here and home, will three years be enou... full info
