Whew! Arriving in Germany was a whirlwind. We had gotten used to freezing temperatures, desolate countryside, and locals who all spoke English. Yesterday we arrived in Frankfurt and found it quite a challenge. It is the extreme opposite from Iceland here. Germany is experiencing unusually hot weather, and English speakers are much harder to come by. Simple things like reading a menu are pretty impossible even with our translation guide.... so beer, bratwurst, and pretzels (and I mean PRETZELS), a few of the only things we do understand, are more than getting us by so far. We arrived at our hostel in Munich today. A beautiful city. We will spend 4 days here, which is a very welcome break from moving to a new location every day. And the prices!
