There are many varieties available and mostly very good. I particulalry liked the unfiltered lager and a dark, normal strength beer. The Grizzly at 8% alcohol was too heavy for my taste.

Have you got proof of concept of your cabin. Is it as nice and well appointed as your sanctuary at home! Great to see and read about your adventures.

Is that large glass building behind the covered markets?
27th October 2013

No. This is the other end of the mall. Came here for an Euro ATM, that was locked away on the weekend!

Cos all the empty spaces in the picture are the rooftops of the stalls?

The ageing population looking after their knees!

Did you write this??-see quote below. I suspect not-unless you were suffering from heatstroke! I must have wandered off the track and logged into someone else's philosophising... "Singapore Taken in my most recent Bali trip. love this pi
cture! it was a hot late morning when we walked over to the beach. why i love this view? what captured me the most was the huge rock. as the waves hit strongly onto the rock, it stood still, unharmed. i want to have a heart, as wide as the sea, as blue as it is in that wide huge arena, lies a Rock that is not shaken a Rock where i can stand upon, hide behind a Rock that will not be moved".

MMm-looks like the real thing! Found a similar setup at Bukit Bintang stalls in KL, but much less glamourous-looking than the S'pore version.

Original design eh! Will it become an icon?

I was motivated by the publicity to see this structure, and I wasn't disappointed.

Looks like you are actually within their enclosure. Are they within touching distance and if so, what interactions did you experience?

They wander freely through the Zoo, with cargo nets and ropes strung for them in the trees. At the appointed time they make their way down to this spot and hang around for pics. They seemed largely uninterested in the tourists, I don't re
call them even being bribed with food...

It was certainly comfortable Kerrie, but our hopes of a long, unbroken sleep proved optimistic.

Don't joke, after a week away, I'm starting to feel golf withdrawal symptoms!

Local food is interesting. Bread and potato dumplings join the various goulash sauces. They seem to like combining their meats. Yesterday I had a pork steak with a blue cheese dressing, topped with ham and salami. Verra nice!

They rate their beers on degrees of fermentation. 11 is light and produces a 4% alcohol beer which was unfiltered and very refreshing. The Grizzly was an 18 beer with 8%, too heavy for our taste.

Aw magnificently beautiful. Just love the architecture of yesteryear. Could just sit and admire all features and be amazed at how they did it. Must watch Pillars.
