What a shame you could only enjoy the surrounds and not get into the culinary side, bummer. Looks really gorgeous

Certainly had a great clear day for the chopper flight, for viewing and happy snaps. Think I would have to focus real hard on the views and info to distract me from the bubble in which I was travelling! All sounds great and wonder if you ar
e enjoying "local" food, more of the Indian and Dutch culture than the French.

Sel, Rob, The Stellenboch area is wonderful is it not. I almost melt when experiencing the Cape Dutch architecture. The one local red is a Pinotage. Make sure you have a drop. The local drop is Castle ...which is not to be confused with
real beer ...but I wouldn't necessarily say that to the locals!Cheers,Lowie

Sel, Rob, G'day. I am just catching up with your blog. Great to hear you are having a rewarding time. Yes, we are envious ....but in the nicest possible way. The animals are as wonderful as they are different. When one thinks, the larg
est original Australian predator (excluding the croc) is a quoll!! Your blog brings back lovely memories. You have done better than we did on Big 5 sightings. However, of interest, we found that after a while one's attention shifted to the myriad of other animals and birds to be experienced. All the best.Cheers,Lowie

Enjoying the pics and notes of interest. Villages with happy kids with nothing but their name, can be so heartwarming and humbling and their singing is beautiful.

Good close up. Shame they have to have their normal cycles altered, but I do appreciate Males in their season can be truly out of control.

Plenty of elephant photos but nothing really great. We mainly saw small herds, the large, single males were not evident.

Aw how fabulous, and my favourite elephants didn't disappoint, they are just beautiful and you certainly got up close and personal. Was going to ask what the food is like, imagine variety of spices, the next photo of the salad meat dish loo
ks scrumptious. How many photos have you of the elephants? Some worth framing?

Excellent night shots of Spore. Were they hand held and on automatic setting?

Presuming the temps in Nelspruit were a little warmer: all the crops you mention belong to a tropical region.

Like the sound of these earplugs, need a workable pillow/neck support too. Who would have thought it would be sooooo cold.

Wet season is mid-Oct to end Feb. Apparently winter is the best time because the vegetation is down and visibility is better. The recent weather has been unusually cold.
