Today a road trip to Karlstejn Castle via a glassworks and a micro brewery.

There can't be too many places where beer is the cheapest beverage, of any kind. The brewery sells craft beer in 1.5l plastic bottles with screw tops for 40 Crowns - AUD$2.50. About the same price as for a small soft drink.

The 14th© castle even had some original wood furniture, as well as wood panelling, ceilings, etc. It still didn't come close to the churches for Wow factor, but not many can compete with promises of an afterlife.

Off to Budapest early tomorrow to join our cruise.

Not your typical boutique beer but they only make 3,000 decalitres per year, for mostly local consumption.

Fascinating! One could watch for hours.
We were told the process and equipment hadn't changed much in 170 years. Neither had workplace safety, we observed. The guide said the company provided proper PPE, but the workers choose to wear open shoes, loose clothing, no safety glasses, etc.

Largest castle - be an exercise to establish that, but when comparing them all it is an achievement and still standing with wooden features intact. Too cold for white ants. Wonder what the cheapest beer tastes like, grizzly as one is named?

They rate their beers on degrees of fermentation. 11 is light and produces a 4% alcohol beer which was unfiltered and very refreshing. The Grizzly was an 18 beer with 8%, too heavy for our taste.

may be cheapest liquid drink, but how does it TASTE?

There are many varieties available and mostly very good. I particulalry liked the unfiltered lager and a dark, normal strength beer. The Grizzly at 8% alcohol was too heavy for my taste.
