Memories Michelle, lovely sharing your childhood memories. Looks so lovely and sunny it's blowing a gale here and with the wind chill factor it is freezing. It snowed in the Blue Mountains yesterday about 5cm, so enjoy the warmth. xx
Washington Air & Space Museum Hi all, lovely photos. It brought back memories. I loved the Smithosian air & space museum. I think it's a great place to take kids. Enjoy the rest of your time in NY.
How do you do it ???? With all your sight seeing, I do not know how you find the time to send so many detailed blogs to everyone. Says a lot about your stamina. How great that you are able to stay close to your family members in New York... A big bonus for you that's for sure. I am sure that the grand children are loving it too.
I have just spent a week grand child sitting in Sydney ( its the school holidays), and that was hectic but fun. It was certainly warmer than here as well.
You are very lucky to be able to have so many wonderful trips in your early retirement.... enjoy them all while you can.
I look forward to catching up with you IN PERSON on your return.
Cheers

your exciting holiday Hi there, it is very interesting reading your news and seeing your photos. It is a long time since Keith and I were in New York, we spent 5 weeks touring the States in 1983. Your apartment looks great and it will be nice to base yourself somewhere for 4 weeks and you can enjoy the Big Apple without having to rush everywhere. Enjoy your time with the family. Your grandchildren look so cute.
The High Line Walked the High Line when last in New York, December 2010, I agree with you it is well worth doing. My eldest daughter lived in Perry Street in the West Village for nearly 11 years so I know the area well. The best frozen Margaritas (along with the usual brain freeze!) came from The Cowgirl on Hudson Street.
NYC heat wave Just watched item on news back here Michelle about the heat wave & wondering how you were coping. Certainly no heat wave here in the Blue Mtns. Great photos once again.
Hi Hi Michelle
It's been wonderful following your travels. It sounds like you are having a lovely time. Only 4 weeks till I take off for Colombia. Can't wait.
The Big Apple Your NYC blog brings back so many menories. Every time I visit NY I cannot go past the Museum Mile and never miss visits to the MMA and Guggenheim. I agree with your comments on the Fricke Museum, outstanding and well worth a visit. Do try to visit the Cloisters, part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they have their medieval and religious collection, it is near the top of Manhattan, round the 200's. Catch the A train, walk through the park and enter another world - fantastic. Glad you visited the Natural History Museum, another must place to visit; I never miss it! New York is one place I love visiting, mind you it helps that my daughter lives there, three blocks from the Lincoln Centre so I don't have accommodation costs. Don't forget to get your visitor discount cards from Customer Service at Macy's and Bloomingdale's; they usually last for 30 days and give you 11% discount on most items on top of the sale price too. What a bargain - so you can shop till you drop!
We started travelblogging in 2008 when, with the parenting responsibilities of six children long-gone, we (Michelle & Kevin) left home for a three months adventure during which time we spent some of the kids inheritance! Having always loved traveling, prior to our three months away six weeks has been the longest period we've been overseas and that was mostly with kids in tow. Now officially retired (well sort of) I think we'll be taking up this traveling lark with a vengeance! ... full info
