Himachal Pradesh June 2017 “I am not the mind. I am neither intelligence nor egoism. I am the joy of intelligence. I am Shiva, I am Shiva.” Adi Sankara And so.... I have wanted to return to Spiti Valley again after first visiting there together with my mate Mark on our Royal Enfield motorcycles in 2010. There were places I just fancied spending more time in... and new places also. I live in a rented house in Inner Seraj Valley... just 6 km before Jalorie Pass in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. A great 'take off' point for Spiti, which I figured would take me just two days riding north to reach, approaching from the eastern side of Himachal via Rampur and returning via Manali on the western side (or more in the middle of Himchal). ... read more

October 6th2016 Lambri Mountain, Inner Seraj Valley, Himachal Pradesh The choices we make lead up to actual experiences. It is one thing to decide to climb a mountain. It is quite another to be on top of it. Herbert A. Simon Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley. Theodore Roethke We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee; we are as the mountain and the echo in us is from thee. Rumi It's early morning, 5am. The man has woken at his usual time and sits (zazen) for an hour. Usually he would then take his time over chai before his daily hatha yoga, but he knows the kid is next door keen to get ... read more

15thSeptember 2016 Largisher Mountain, Inner Seraj Valley, Himachal Pradesh “I searched for God among the Christians and on the Cross and therein I found Him not. I went into the ancient temples of idolatry; no trace of Him was there. I entered the mountain cave of Hira and then went as far as Qandhar but God I found not. With set purpose I fared to the summit of Mount Caucasus and found there only 'anqa's habitation. Then I directed my search to the Kaaba, the resort of old and young; God was not there even. Turning to philosophy I inquired about him from ibn Sina but found Him not within his range. I fared then to the scene of the Prophet's experience of a great divine manifestation only a "two bow-lengths' distance from him" but God ... read more

Sojha, Inner Seraj Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India August 2016 “Life consists of rare, isolated moments of the greatest significance, and innumerably many intervals, during which at best the silhouettes of those moments hover about us.” Nietzsche “So what is the essence? What matters.....what really, really matters..... is it giving love? Is it procreation? Is it knowledge, is it finding truth? The struggle to overcome, relief from pain? Is it stillness? The scraps of nirvana? Perhaps it's connection. Visceral connections and part of the journey together and touching soul.
