Great stories! So I am a total stranger and I don't even know if you are reading your comments anymore since you've obviously returned home but I just wanted to say how hilarious and fun your blog posts are. I found them while researching my own upcoming trip to Borneo. I've been to Thailand and Cambodia last year so I could really relate to your experiences. I felt the same way about Cambodia. It completely changed my life and I hope to return soon to do some volunteering. Right now I am living in China, but I previously lived in Toronto so I could relate to your Canadian references, too. I hope that you do travel again so you can share your amazing sense of humor with the world!!
Oh the fun that you have had .... I'm looking forward to having you back at work to listen to your tales of yonder...You must come over for a cocktail ( NO MARTINIS ) I will never ever touch one of those again....
See you soon Have a Happy and safe trip home ...

Piss off. so now i'm at work wasting my bosses money while i sit on the internet. Life's grand isn't it?! i'm looking forward to having a couple of rum and egg nogs with you when you get back here to good ol' Canada! mmm mmm.
i love you cathy i cried with you reading this. i am so sorry you're having a day like today and i can't imagine the horrors you have seen or witnessed. you're heart is made of gold and those who have been lucky enough to meet you while you are there know it! i love you a ton and can't wait to see you
All Beauties No Beast I have to disagree with you , you look every bit as beautiful as those Cambodian women... I felt very sad today reading this blog as we here in Canada are so oblivious to the lives that othere lead. We are so fortunate to have what we have but we never think it is enough...Stay safe have fun see you very soon ! Sharon
BIG HUGS!!! And phone me you did! At 5:50 a.m. yet!!! But the one lucky part of that is I am working day shift and my alarm had just rang 2 minutes before, so you aren't in trouble you lucky thing!!! Remember dear that we all love you very much. Rmember that you are a visitor in a country of horror and sadness and you do not live there. Remeber that even though you bought a days meal for a few, you cannot, singlehandedly fix everything over there. Just try to remember the beauty and the good things you have witnessed - the man who gives a safe place to all the young amputees (land mine victims), Wen and Wen's mother and her big hugs (She probably thought he was bringing you home to introduce you to his new wife haha), the beauty of the ancient temples, and whatever else you have experienced. This one leg of your trip alone, I think, will be life changing for you. Remember all at home who love you and remember that Ty is missing you very much, although he sure has settled in well here. We all miss you and can't wait for you to come home. Oh ya, remember one more thing! The silk factory - that is what I was talking about, that is what I wanted you to see. Oh boy oh boy I wonder if I will be a recipient of a gift from the gift shop!! Oh goody goody gumdrops! I think I just might be. I am so excited. I love you, big hugs!!! XOXOXO MOM
Oh I forgot to tell you.... You could have been part of the Super Pussy show and the Pussy Collection. Maybe you should have applied for a job. After all who else could show off their super pussy ears!! HaHa just joking of course
flashing again...sounds like my sister OMG! you sound like you are having a blast!!! I am completely accepted into school now as long as my medical passes which it really should unless they hold asthma against me now. stupid school! anyways...i am so glad to hear you are keeping up with your flashing incidents. they really are funny! i love you a ton!!!!!!!!
Hey Cathy....sounds like youre having a great time. Was wondering though if youve been able to find a laudry mat????? Or if you had to hire someone off the street to wash your clothes?Ho pefully you packed enough underwear though just in case.....although Im sure you could get anyone to do anything for you from the amount of times youve revealed yourself to others on the street! Love reading your stories and adventures!! Looking forward to seeing you when you get back...by the way you have some shovelling to do! Sarah
Chips again Sorry I lied they went to Bangkok not Cambodia silly me , totally had them confused with the cast of Fall Guy ... Give a shout out to Lee Majors if you see him !
Sharon
Chips you say ! I must tell you that was one of the guys from Chips, apparentley not alot of money was made in Chip reruns so off to Cambodia they went along with Starsky and Hutch and I bet if you look close enough Murdoch from the A team is probably waiting tables over there! Oh you lucky girl amongst all those celebrities ...
Sharon
You Should Stand Proud... Cathy, I have enjoyed reading about your journey...and must say you are hysterical!! I don't care what they say...that picture of that nun IS worth biting ants and flashing the people!!! Stand proud and show back fat, front fat...whatever you must! Sounds like you are having a riot!
Cynthia
Just imagine.... You in the same spot as Angelina - too bad she wasn't with Brad at that time or you could have been one with Brad as well!! I can't believe you have actually been in and seen and taken pictures of these temples that I just read about and see in books and magazines. The Nun picture was definitely worth a thousand biting ants!! I was showing off your pictures at work the other night and I had groupies!!! People gathered from all over (well as far as all over as third floor nursing station) and all were ooooing and awing over your pictures. I hear comments like "holy cow" and "good lord look at that" and even "it looks like its right out of National Geographic" and best of all "Is that your daughter? My god she is beautiful!!"!! So there oyu go. Yes the workmanship in those temples and buildings and stairs is mind boggling! And to think the people back thousands of years ago did not have the luxury of automatic and electric and hydraulic tools! It was all done by hand. Much better workmanship than the historic buildings of Cranbrook BC. Another one went up in flames Saturday night! Swanson's Men's Wear! Man I feel bad for them. The building is now just a shell with no top. The tatoo parlour and the apartments above (you know the ones you so dearly wanted to rent) all gone :( Sad day for the Swanson family for sure. They have had their run of bad luck this year as it was a 18 yr old Swanson boy (nephew and grandchild) who died in that horrific police chase car crash this summer.
Anyway enough of the sad stuff. You continue your fantastic trip for the next 8 days - I can't believe you only have that long left and then have to get back to the ol' grind like the rest of us. Love you lots XOXOXO MOM
sober cathy is a fantasticly entertaining travel blog writer......but drunk cathy sounds like a hoot!!!! what would your mother say. in fact i might just phone her at work and tell her about your most interesting latest blog. my god what i would give to have seen you pissed out of your tree at a club by yourself getting "massaged" by thai ladies. holy crap thats hilarious.
keep em coming....

Dumb and Dumber Oh my friend the laughs that I have had while reading your blogs I must say that I will be very sad to see them end but perhaps you could continue on with your witty writing style and put princeton on the map with your tales of driving back and forth to work...You are a good driver rememeber when you drove me to the Chiropractors office ( that was nice ) I am picturing The scene from Dumb and Dumber while LLoyd ( two L's ) Christmas and Harry are ridin upon the scooter but I don't think that they went barreling into a lovely thai familys backyard and then make the lovely family push them back out but I could be wrong I think perhaps there is a part 3 comming out on Dec. 16 Dumb and dumber in Thailand I cannot wait to see it , What about you !!!!!!! Happy travels my friend like the new specs they look a little something something like the ones I adorn ! Miss you lots see you soon Sharon !
hello katydid Hey chatty Cathy, I've been reading your blogs all along and I've really been enjoying them. I'm sorry to hear about all your poop, especially since the facilities aren't that great. I've been loving your photos and I can't wait to see them all. I'm serious when I say you should submit some of them to National Geographic or Life magazine. They print photos from amatuer photographers every now and then (and from what I've heard pay $25.00). Ty must miss you like crazy right about now. What are the dogs like there? You should take some photos for your next blog. The dogs and cats in Mexico were really skinny, which is probably better in a hot climate. You have been missing really NASTY weather in Princeton. I bet you are sad about that. I miss you lots. Take care-Jeannie
Hello from Texas Hi Cathy
Well here we are in our winter home, very warm - 30C and humid. Hey I think it is easier to dress for hot weather, a few less layers. Pam says it has been -37C in Calgary, coldest in 125 years!!!! I think I prefer this and don't miss winter at all. I love reading your stuff.
Love Laurie
Poop Hows the Diarrhea ? Sing the following please just like the commercial " Heartburn nausea indegestion upset stomach diarrhea " and also there are a few dance moves to go with that little diddy .. You should have brought your pepto bismal
Wow, great pictures of the water and beaches. holy crap. too bad to hear about your unfortunate poop adventure. hope that clears up soon. I love the story about the bug up your skirt and accidentally mooning the muslims in your room. So funny. I guess they got a little adventure too hey. hehe
enjoy the sun. it's -10 on sunday.

Whoooaaa!!! And Laura thought I was bad when I mentioned one little weenie teenie word that had to do with bodily functions of the smelly variety! Here you have a whole damg blog that basically is all about your smelly bodily functions! I can't believe you!! Well, actually I can so never mind. What I can't believe and am so excited about is there were two blogs in as many days! Now that is exciting for us poor souls left here at home in the WINTER , yes I said WINTER, weather of cold and snow!!!!!!! Like Sue says, it is suppose to get really really really cold here in the next few days and I certainly am not looking forward to it. I am wishing I was there right now so I wouldn't have to do this wintery cold thing. No wonder Laurie and Dave go south every year now! Oh if only...wishful thinking....man I still have to work for a living. I wonder if you will find yourself a nice good looking RICH gay foreigner that you could bring home with you??? And while you're at it pick one up for me too ok? HAHA and Haley probalby wouldn't mind one as well....
I am so glad you're having a good time. Quit losing things OK? Love you lots - oh ya I have to go and pick up a parcel at the post office now - I wondeer if it's from you?? Yippeeeeeeee... I'm going to go get it right now. Bye......
don't complain Enjoy your heat...and I don't think it is easier to dress for heat...It is supposed to go to -30 on Tues night here...I'm glad you're having a relaxing time and enjoying every minute.
Love Auntie Sue
