Ah here i sit again, 5:11am at crap ass work, laughing my buns off at your most recent blog. You'll be happy to know this night shift contain a surprising lack of poop. for this i am grateful. you do write fabulously. i must say i thoroughly enjoy you journals. And to reiterate a previous comment left on here....this weekend is supposed to get to a high of -14. Great. Oh and it's snowing and i have to sweep off my truck in the morning prior to going home. yeah so enjoy your sun. I think its great that you will be in a decent hotel with a tub and hot water to end you adventure. you deserve it for sure.
Oh dear, it sounds as though someone has dropped their kleenex box on the floor and are now ringing the nurse to come and pick it up. Because you know thats why i went to school. to bring people water, wipe ass, and pick up kleenex boxes. Duty calls.
Enjoy every minute.

HI GILES! This is the first time i have found time to read all of your blogs, it sounds like a wonderful trip. I just cant help thinking that if you threw in a little mystery, love, and murder whithin your tour group, you would have the makings for a great novel. You write so well and are so entertaining i was very dissapointed when i came to the end!!! Everything is fine at the house so far, there is one plant that looks suspiciously like it is not happy, and the TV plant has been damp each time so i havent watered it yet. I wont talk about work because work SUCKS, but lots of people are talking about your blogs. I finished "Marley and Me" what a neat book thank you . Of course I knew how it would end so put off reading the last 2 chapters for a week or two. Well, back to my boring life, have fun, drink lots, and dont get lost.........love Klein
Shopping!!!! I think when you left Canada you had one bag and only one bag! Because you didn't want to be laden down with a whole bunch of belongings - remember??? And here I see you in this photo with at least 3 if not 4 bags!!! You always did love to shop! Is it as cheap, or should I say inexpensive, as everyone says it is over there on the other side of the world? What are you going to do with all your free relaxing time? I hope you don't get bored. After all the adventures you've had it might be sort of anticlimactic. Glad to hear you booked yourself a nice fancy hotel for the night before your 40 some hour flight home. You will need it by then - and then you might not smell too bad coming home either LOL Puppies are already growing big and tubby with cute little round bellies and pink snouts and feet. Pictures forthcoming. Love Mom
i wish! I wish i could say that I have seen so many temples and what not that they all look the same. I wish i could be there with you. I wish you were here when i got accepted. I wish i coulde go lie on a beach and do absolutly nothing at all! but no...instead i am hear in BC freezing my ass off and slipping and sliding all over the roads with 4 clients in my vehicle thinking today is the day they are going to die! so...in other words...quit complaining about the heat!!!!! cause I WISH!!!! I love you and miss you a ton still xoxoxo
Some ugly some not ... now when saying that you have met friends that will stay in contact with you ( good luck with that one ) will it be the old ones the young ones or the ugly ones ...I must know this information ..Can't wait for your arrival back to work to share your stories with us as i miss your sense of humour terribly and look forward to the stories of ugly travellers from around the world...But you know There good enough smart enough and dog gone it someone may like them 9maybe not )
Sharon
What about that sister of yours?! As interesting and exciting as your blogs always are, your sister's exciting news took precedent today!!! I am so very proud of her to be startrting her program in January. Psychiatric Nursing - who ever would have thought?!?! OMG! There is so much to do and think about between now and January - i mean where on earth is she going to live?!?!?!
As for you world traveller, sounds like your adventures are never going to end. I can't believe you have finished the first portion of your Thailand trek. And you've already completed Borneo and still ahve Cambodia to look forward to! I wonder where your next big adventure is going to take you?
Anyway I'm sitting here at work night shift and have to get some work done just in case i have a night like Haley did with all the bells and you know what to look after and clean up! Love you lots. MOM
Whose the man!!!!! Go Cathy, Wow the hike sounds like a harder Fisher Peak! Very proud of you. Esp for carrying your own backpack!!!
And I just want to encourage more "ramblings", drunken or otherwise, we love them all. You are ridiculously funny. Happy travels (if your legs will still hold you up)

Didn't even read it I can't even read your blog because i am just way too excited!!!!!i got my fucking acceptance letter!!!!!!!!! i go to school in January 2007!!! OH MY GOD!!!! i can;t believe it's actually happening!!!!!! holy shit!!! i wish you were here to do the happy dance with me!!! AHHHHHHHHH
losing things is not fun!! First you lose your brand new MP3 player in a taxi cab and now you've gone and lost your USB camera cable in Chain Mai! What next. It won't be your mind - I think you have already lost that with all of the alcohol consumption that seems to be taking place. You'd never know your little sister works in an alcohol and drug rehab place the way she carries on about how glad she is you have started drinking! I think when she goes to school and is only three hour drive from you God only knows what trouble my two girls will be getting into!! Sheesh!
Love Mom
I can't believe you ate a cricket Migod Cathy i just love your blogs. Uncle Dave laughs right out loud so you know he enjoys them too. I would have loved to see the look on your face when he tried to put the pants on you - funny! Love u lots, auntie laurie
crickets???eating them??? You knew I would finish reading that paragraph. Now I know you have lost your mind. After all the nausea and vomitting from your infection, you have to go and eat the unmentionable...I could have pulled my tongue out just reading about it...Yeeecccchhh!!!!!!!
Glad you are now enjoying your trip again, and I don't even wish I was there if you have to eat crickets!!!!!!@!

WTF?! on another note i am so glad to hear you have taken up drinking...you know what this means right?! hahaha i wish i could be there with you to go on an elephant ride and bamboo thingy ma jig! and all the rest minus the crickets! GROSS! happy to hear you're feeling better. i do have to say that if you weren't on that tour you wouldn't have done alot of things you have experienced being on it. such as the amazing cooking class! but i get what you mean! i love you lots and think about you WAY too much. i said to mom that i am just glad you took up drinking and not drugging! watch out for the cute boys...they're nothing but trouble! love you lots Laura
Oh My GOD!!! You are rather funny you know. Remember when you thought you had lost your wit? Well, I think you have found it - maybe in a bottle of beer or in those White Russians? By the way Cathy, I thought you didn't like beer?!?!?! I am so happy that you finally have gotten rid of the pussy in your ear! Man that was starting to worry me. You Ate crickets???? My GOD!! Susan is going to flip when she reads that!!!! next thing you know you'll be eating cow's lips with the teeth still intact - just like they did on Amazing Race. (I keep having this vision in my head that you are actually on The Amazing Race!) Haley is right, I laugh right out loud at your entries, and I am like her, I am checking all the time to see if you have anther entry to read. Love you and miss you., Keep haveing a blast. Mom

hey there cathy. i've awoke after night shift and sat down and updated myself on your trip so far. it does sound amazing (and amazingly gross i'll have to admit). you sound a little homesick but probably because of the mounds of crap coming out of your ears. so i just wanted to tell you that even if you miss your family and friends back in canada, you should remember that everyone thinks you are on the most amazing trip of a lifetime and wish you all the best. soak it all up, everyone thinks the world of you for your brave adventures.
take care. enjoy
hayley
Hey Cathy, it's hayley from cranbrook. how are ya. ive been reading your blogs but im a couple days behind. i'll catch up tomorrow. just in case you are ever grumpy or in a wee bit-o-foul-mood at anything at all incliding your ears (sounds awful by the way) just think that hayley sits on the third floor of the east kootenay reginal hospital and reads my blogs on my fabulous trip to thailand and every once in a while (read in every bloddy frickin minute) a bell rings because someone has shit their pants..... AGAIN. and hayley gets to go clean it up. and you are in the jungle with tigers and sun and unimaginable beauty..... and hayley is more than likely clearing up shit..... AGAIN. and lucky bastard that she is, she gets to come back tomorrow night to do the same thing. yep quite the life here.
im insanely proud of you for you excursion and hope you get all that you can out of the trip. enjoy the sun. im going for a fake-n-bake tan tomorrow. it's almost the same as lying in the borneo sun you know.
anyway. i love reading your entries. i'll catch up tomorrow afternoon after i wake up from doing this glorious night shift.
later

I forgot.... Your description of the tourists at the Bridge on the River Kwai reminded me of how we felt when we went to Buchart Gardens in Victoria - so many people!!!!!!
Your Mommy.... I just want everyone to know that the expensive phone call home to Mommy last evening was actually 5:00am for me!! And that an hour before I HAD to wake up! Anyway Mommy was here to give long distance HUGS and love and advise! I could just hear the pain in your voice but you did very well holding it together! I am proud of you! I spoke with Dr. McIver here at work today - I picked him because I know he has done tons of diving - he said that just from what I told him that it was most likely an otitis externa (which I guess is not as bad as otitis media) He says with the topical ear drops now prescribed, you should start seeing results very quickly, and he says not to worry about the infection spreading to the brain - as it is very uncommon in adults for that to happen!! (he also advises against diving for a little while HAHA as if you had to be told that!) Hey just be glad you didn't end up like Nancy S. from work - she was flown home early from Haiti due to Dengue Fever from mosquito bites and she is still in the hospital here - some sick to. Keep smiling!! you are so beautiful when you smile and I love you so much. I think of you ALL the time on your trip. I love your pictures and am having such a wonderful time travelling with you! Love Mom
cheer up sista I am so sorry to hear about all this hoop-law crap with your stupid freakin ear! If it makes you feel better i got tears in my eyes for you. I love you a ton and things will get better. just keep that smile on your face cause it's contagious(sp) then all those around you will smile and you will smile with them
Love you and miss you a whole f*ck of a lot
Laura
Mmmmmm..........pus. Chappy,
I am very impressed with your ability for description. I feel like I am right there with you sometimes. I must say though I am very worried about your ear infection. I hope your new antibiotics will work soon. At least your in Thailand. I hear that Dr.s there prescribe antibiotics for erectile disfunction and depression so at least there will be no shortage of medicine for you. Please cheer up and try to enjoy the rest of your time there as much as you can because I really like reading your entries and getting mail makes me feel popular.
