Paris- The train is not as user friendly as one would think. 2 got left one stop behind...Luckily they did find their way to next stop. This morning... A girls room is asked where their key is for check out. We are told Spencer has it? ok Have discovered the joys of taking a shower without a shower curtain...When the shower head is not mounted on the wall if you are listening from other room it sounds like 2 elephants mating. The trick is to step on showerhead when not rinsing... The next hotel had a shower curtain...JOY... however no hot water! Hopefully next hotel has a shower curtain and hot water! Have been able to get a souvenir thimble almost everywhere except bordeaux. Am still working on my french!... read more

Busy, Busy, Busy...Arrived in Paris Wednesday 6:45am. Continued all day...walking tour. By the time we got back to hotel had put in 10 miles. Thursday a little calmer only put in 5 miles. Over both days saw all the best sites...Visited the Louvre,Arc de Triumphe, Versailles (Louis XIV was some kind of ego maniac) On Thursday night we visited the eiffel tower. We were going to climb up...40 flights but we were able to get the elevator... thank goodness. Friday we took the high speed train to Nice...1st class...absolutely wonderful! It was so relaxing...about 51/2 hours. Everybody fell asleep. I did put my feet into the mediterranean. Saturday we drove by bus to Monaco...gorgeous scenery. No changing of guard because of upcoming wedding of prince phillip. We stopped at a parfumerie. Very interesting! Of course couldn't ... read more

The countdown has begun. I now have 6 days to get organized. Today I will follow the recommended format. Lay all my clothes out to see what I will take. Then I will put half back in my closet...... read more
