TIME CAN STANDSTILL A great time had and hope we can do it again fairly soon ---- Japan fascinating --- But seeing both of you --worth its weight in GOLD --Love ya Jude and I
Summer........Florida????? I am sure now that you and Trish are "hardcases"...lol! I spent 9 months in Florida from April thru November once..............the summer was horrifying for a person that hates humidity and has curly hair! Hoping all of your travels are always fun and interesting......even if they are a bit sticky! ;)
No shame Look on the bright side....You can downsize from a desktop computer to a laptop. Imagine Lincoln would have had one...or like your kids and grandkids, done it all on a smartphone. I am NOT giving up my desktop!
Fabulous! I love the story and the quips were wonderful. What a beautiful event a wedding can be with all it's amazing chaos, laughter, tears of joy and the promise of what's to come. I am so happy for your family and wish you all many, many years of happiness and memories to share.
As usual, reading your blog makes me smile. I also saw the wedding photos on FB and it appears the entire weekends was a fabulous event for all! Your family is really growing.
OLD FRIEND FROM QUANTICO Hello Gerri and Jeff -- I found you - your kids are getting big -- Pam and I have been asking each other if we've heard from you, can't wait to hear from you Gerri
always a friend

TyndallAFB Remember this spot very clearly. On our Elderhostel at the JC in Panama Beach we had daily biirding sessions and spent several of them at the base. Great birding and interesting driftwood/shells/etc.
More great photos! John I loved all the photos but am sorry there wasn't a better shot of your Dad. After seeing a couple of his posts on FB I was hoping to put a face to that wit! LOL!
Love the photos! The photo of trish at the old lock is beautiful. It reminds me of the ruins of some of the bridges along the Merrimack River in NH. As always, the descriptions of your travels are vivid and informative. Next time I make the drive cross country I intend to incorporate a few of these places!
Another interesting trip! The two of you will have many wonderful memories of traveling the country this way and that! And I thought I was well-travelled! Having the opportunity to visit your sister' grave must have been poignant. I was not aware that she had passed that year and it was inexcusable for the school board to deny you the chance to be there with the rest of your family. They couldn't get away with that now.
like your first chapter....... We were concerned when we learned of your rough start, but the trip unfolds very nicely. Of course we have heard the details, but you sumarize beautifully. Less talk about food than usual? The Amish country takes us back to many trips and the scenic shot is perfect. So glad you got to Medina.
Lovely area i did a couple of 100 mile mountain bike races that used the white water rafting center as the start finish. We always stayed the night before in Blue Ridge, GA. The race used trails and back roads that took us into Georgia and back. BTW, it is spelled Ocoee.
Cabooses. John and Trish,
Bob and I still live in Franklin. I was looking threw your blog, and saw that you were wondering about the cabooses. They ARE homes to some and vacation homes to others. The old station is used for wedding receptions and gatherings now.
Really enjoyed reading about your trip.
Caboose homes Wow! Fascinating. Thanks for the info. We were staying in West Franklin up Rt 3 (I think that was it) on the road to hill. So sorry we didn't have a chance to see you guys. We'll try to get back in sooner than another 30+ years.
