Hi John,
John, great to hear from you...you might have to think about parking the RV this summer if gass climbs to $5/gallon as everyone seems to be predicting. Take care, Angela (o:

No way!
Sorry, Angela. We'll still go out. Only instead of driving a bit every couple of days, we might stay longer in one place. I want to go to NH this spring/summer for a high school reunion where I used to teach. We'll find a way. Thanks for your comments. Plan on coming to visit sometime.

Close to Huntsville
Hi Angela--Yep, we are about 45 minutes from Huntsville. It's 4 lane divided most of the way and easy driving. Lots to do there; we just haven't explored much of it yet. Come on down!!

Great News!
Glad Kim made it down for a visit. It sounds like you all had a wonderful time visiting with you. How far are you from Huntsville?

Why not Alabama (O;
John, it sounds like you guys made the best choice for yourselves and in the end that is really what matters. Having spent my summers in the country (Hamlet, NC) as a kid at my grandmother's, I can definitely relate to your statement about the different pace of life. It is nice sometimes to stop and actually smell the roses instead of a quick glance as you rush by (o: Take care, Angela

Friends of the Sammons
We found your story very interesting as we are friends of the Jeff & Gerri when they lived in San Diego. We attended the same church and moved to Indiana just as they were leaving for the east coast. Hunter had just been born and Jeff still had his dog Samson. If you are in touch with them, please share our email address. the Umbenhaurs

Happy Retirement!
What a great way to start your retirement! I think the snow was the perfect addition. Congratulations on finally joining the ranks of the happily retired - I look forward to that status. I saw the pictures of your new house on one of your other blogs. Looks great. Hope Nealy and I get to visit sometime. Take care and ENJOY LIFE!

Wonderful!!!
You can retire. I envy you. I want to retire but I have about 20 years to go or maybe more. You can do whatever you want every day. Oh, wonderful. I think it's good idea that you have a home base and go to trip whenever and whereever you want. I congratulate you on your starting good days.

Howdy!
So glad to read about your travels. You mention some places in TN- such as Crossville and Knoxville. Well- guess what- we are presently in Pleasant Hill, TN- just came through those two TN towns where you have been. We are en route to Newton, NC, where I'll be again volunteering at Abernethy Laurels. Plan to be there until late August. Why don't you come down and visit me again??!! Oh yes- had a delightful visit with Wilkinsons and Kilsdonks in MN. Always appreciate being able to keep in touch with family. Lotsa love, Aunst Dosia

I enjoy reading your trip stories. You enjoy your life as you did in Japan. Wonderful!!! Last week, our old family, my father, mother, sister and me, traveled to Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen for celebrateing my father's 80 years old. It was a short travel, only 4 days, but we enjoyed it. Hong Kong's night view was so beautiful and foods were so delicious. In Macao, egg pie was very good, and some streets was like Europe. Shenzhen was starting to develop 28 years ago, so well organized town. It was a guided package tour. The guides took care of most of things. We did not worry about much during the tour. I hope that we can make another tirp near future.

Oh baby- you're cute!
Thanks so much for including me in this blog. Looks as if Drew is getting lots of TLC - lucky child. It's hard for me to think of John and Trish as grandparents, but now I have proof! If you Fredericksburgers head south again this summer, why not stop in Newton, NC, where I'll be from June 3 to end of August. Tomorrow I fly to MN to connect with Greta who has my car. Then we start our May adventure. Lots of love to ALL of you- Aunt D

Great Blog
John San, See, I was able to reach you from my home computer! (Deb indicates I will have to buy a replacement for the card reader I got from LSS so I guess I'll have to bite the USB cable and do that sometime before the next pandemic). Thanks for the invite onto your travel blog. What fond memories you describe. Your VW Microbus was way cool. john

What a coincidence
Jim and I just watched Nights in Rodanthe last week and now I find you were there in the same area about the same time -- and sat through a hurricane although fortunately yours did not actually come to land. Looked like a really nice trip.

When New England?
Hi, Trish and John, Just spent some time in your blog. Wow! What fun you are having! My question is when will you RV in New England and put Burlington on your itinerary? We'd love to see you, but most of our travel, especially Mark's, is mainly to visit family. We are heading next week for the midwest for a week in Minnesota and Wisconsin (two of Mark's 3 sons). Don't know how many more trips like that Mark will take. He's 88 and doesn't have the stamina or strength to do much that requires either, although he's basically in good health for his age. Turn that RV north and come and see us. October would be a great time. Love, Marylou
