Geo: 51.6069, -3.867Last night ended up bigger than expected and had a bit of a sleep in this morning. We walked into town to find some greasy food for breakfast. The water was only a few metres away from us as we ate. This town is a seaside tourist town. Reminds me of the Mornington Peninsula, but a much smaller town. Lots of people walking along the bay and lots of nice sports cars too! The water here is so still, like a huge swimming pool.Andy and I chatted about what our other friends from uni are up to. We both caught up on some gossip. Spent the night watching TV- its been so long since I've watched TV! And a bonus- pay TV!... read more

Geo: 51.6069, -3.867Checked out of my room this morning and went for a final walk around Bath. Walked to Pultney Bridge and bought myself some breakfast- milkshake and a muffin. Went and sat by the river to eat. A duck kept me company. The city was really quiet at this time of the morning. The day trippers from London had not yet arrived. Spent an hour walking around the city. Then went back to the hostel and got my bag and went to catch the bus. The bus had an hour stop in Bristol so I went to find some lunch and then continued the journey. I arrived in Swansea at about 4 and caught the local bus to the uni to meet Andy at the bus stop. Was good to see an old face, hadn't ... read more

Geo: 51.0114, -2.11934Got in touch with Val this morning and arranged to visit today to change some clothes and leave some things I won't need for a while. On the way to Victoria Station I bought my bus ticket for later that afternoon. Caught the train out to Redhill and walked to Val's. Was very surprised at the amount of stuff that I had left here. Had forgotten about half the clothes I had!! Swapped some clothes over and left stuff. Caught the train back to London and then the tube to my hostel to use the Internet to book accommodation for that night- yes I was leaving it to the last minute. Managed to get a cheap bed in a dorm. Got my bags and headed to the bus station. Got to the bus with ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236After having spent quite a bit of money the last few days, today I had a cheap day. Bought some lunch and ate it along the river. Then went to the National Gallery. As I walked into Trafalgar Square I saw this scaffolding, this has got to be the best I have seen for a long time. The whole thing is covered top to bottom- classic! The gallery was good, managed to pass heaps of time until I get to leave this city.... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236Another wet day in Belgium. Checked out of the room and left my bag at the hostel for a few hours. Wanted to do some last minute shopping. Little did I realize that today is Accension Day- which meant a public holiday. Brussels was very quiet and shops were all shut. We found a bookshop and had a browse until the cafes opened for breakfast. Then bought a little box of chocolate- the last for a while.Walked back to the hostel and got my heavy bag and headed to the airport. Decided to fly back to London, as it was only 58 euros for a flight and 42 euros for an 8 hour bus!! There was no way I was getting a bus, when I could fly for about an hour. Have had enough ... read more

Geo: 50.7944, 4.50339Had a sleep in this morning. It is so good not to have to rush. We walked to the supermarket to get some breakfast. On the way out of the hostel, we noticed a sign that said Van Gogh worked in this building in 1880-81. We went back to the Grand Place to take photos. Again the weather today was quite average, rain, sunshine, rain was the pattern. The buildings here are very decorated with lots of gold. We then saw one of the earliest shopping arcades in Europe. The shops in here were expensive- as can be expected. Continued walking and came to the cathedral of St Michael. Where I paid money to see the archeological remains underneath, it was a rip off - I saw some old bricks. Walked through the unimpressive ... read more
