Splash!
Hi Simone - I thought you had gone to Varanasi not Haridwar?? Yes, I also nearly fell in when trying to launch our candlelit floral leafboat, but there was a boy who was the 'official launcher' and who obviously had to be tipped! I videoed the boat floating down the ganges but I think it sank!! Dad x

Food!
Am living on a diet of rice and roti and learning to deal with being hungry!! Even if you ask for NO Spice - they dont really understand and you still get spicy food!! Theres plenty of bananas here though and we brought some cup of soups and cereal bars. Milkshakes substituting wine!

Weather
The weather looks dreadful and you look as if you are freezing in your picture. Can't say you're missing balmy sunshine in UK though - its just rain and more rain at the moment here. Hope your meal is good this evening.

Haridwar

Hiiii
Just thought I'd say this photo really amused me as I have practically the same shot! This is also where I nearly fell in the Ganges. We were standing on the bottom steps during part of the festival and there was some serious pushing going on. Lots of Love, Simone

Enjoying your blog
Hi Chris and Jackie I'm really enjoying your blog. I look at all the photos and have scanned the written entries. I read the "marriage" one by the river today. You describe it all in great detail - I feel like I'm there! Continue to have fun. love Candy/Jeff

You're married?
Sounds as if you're having an amazing experience. I well remember the chaotic traffic from your description (we did the Golden Triangle of Delhi-Jaipur-Agra way back in 1985) as well as the fascinating every day sights such as people having their hair cut at the side of the road. I guess this was a Hindu experience. I didn't think they gave the red spot to men as well as women! Keep safe! Love Jen
