We didnt feel unsafe at any time but we didnt go out and about very much at night or in the big cities on our own. We were with a driver or a guide most of the time and very well looked after.

I remember Jaipur!
Good to catch up with your travels again after a week's break. I well remember the elephant ride and the Red Fort especially the fabulous mirror work. I'll have to look out our slides. It sounds a wonderful trip despite the persistent sellers. Glad your tum has settled down, Jackie. Hope your last week goes smoothly.

Trip to India
We have done this trip through an Indian Travel Agency called Services International! They have arranged all the hotels and provided a car with a driver and a Guide as well......their prices are very reasonable and they have been 100% reliable and efficient. They take us to Tourist Lunch places where the food is good and we pay about approx 750 rupees for lunch and about the same for evening meal. This is without alchohol - wine is £20.00 per bottle. Hope this is of some help.

I've been enjoying your blog as my wife and I will be taking a similar intinerary this upcoming November. I'm curious as to what your experience has been regarding a typical day in India costs for accommodation, meals and recreation. Some of the hotels look grand, but are they expensive?

We had an excellent guide for our tour of havelis, who made it all very interesting! Also saw an old temple where they had converted it for families to live in...............

Would be honoured rather than insulted re pictures of you! - look at all the pictures you are taking of the locals! Sounds like you are managing for food out there and the sizzling chocolate thing sounded very nice. Want to see the bridal picture now - am intrigued! Does Daisy also have man flu (or Daisy flu??!)
