Geo: 34.7181, -76.6642The was the stop where we waited for the boys to arrive. They drove down from TO and then I continued south in their car, while the boys sailed the boat. Nov. 9th, 2013 – Four hours to Beaufort, NCHello everyone!Just a hop, skip and a jump today, to Beaufort, where we are at the town docks waiting for Randy and Jimmy to arrive. We expect them to arrive around 11pm.It was a VERY roll-y ride across the Neuse River today. Thank goodness it was a VERY short crossing. Once in the canal, we were fine, but BOY! were we rocking for a little while. The rest of the trip was smooth, against the current, but no worries.Beaufort is proving to be as hospitable as the rest of NC, welcoming us with open arms! ... read more

Geo: 35.0308, -76.6933This was one of the stops that everyone talks about…so I really wanted to see it! Cute town, all the amenities…but we only stayed two days because we wanted to GET SOUTH!!! Nov. 8th, 2013 – Oriental, NCHi all,After a 12 hour / 80 mile day, we arrived in Oriental, NC last night at 6pm. We were thinking of stopping and anchoring around 3:30pm, but the Admiral, (that would be ME!) turned to Tony and said, "Let's just keep going!" What started out as a rainy day, turned into a lovely one, and by the time we arrived in Oriental, it was around 70 degrees. T-shirt weather!! I love it!Oriental is very cruiser "oriented"! :) We are at the Oriental Marina, which is also a hotel. The facilities are great! There are towels, shampoo, ... read more

Geo: 36.3015, -76.2198Stayed at the Town Docks for two nights. Very windy! Nov. 4th, 2014 – We are in Elizabeth City, NC!Hello All,We arrived in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, this morning at 11:30am. All is well - but a bit cold. Our first two days were great - warm and wonderful! As most of you saw on our track, our first night was spent at Hospital Point, downtown Norfolk. We had a good, warm day and everything went very well. We anchored smoothly, (thanks to our practice day in Deltaville) and we enjoyed dinner while watching the boat traffic go through the downtown area. We had a good dinner, and watched the sun set. The wind picked up overnight, and Tony was up a number of times during the night to check on our anchor. We didn't ... read more

Geo: 37.5547, -76.3372The Engine has been dropped back into the boat and now our work begins to get everything reconnected. With the engine back in place, Tony's been working hard to get the aft cabin built back up. It will be nice to us the actual companionway steps again rather than a ladder! Our lights, fridge AC outlets and stereo are back up and running! What luxury! Nevertheless, we still are in "camping mode" without running water, a stove, etc. Tony has almost completed the installation of the nav system, AIS, VHF and weather. He's like a kid in a candy store with his new gadgets!I've been staining and applying epoxy resin to all the wood Tony has fabricated. Will insert a pic when I have one! ... read more
