The was the stop where we waited for the boys to arrive. They drove down from TO and then I continued south in their car, while the boys sailed the boat.

Nov. 9th, 2013 – Four hours to Beaufort, NC

Hello everyone!

Just a hop, skip and a jump today, to Beaufort, where we are at the town docks waiting for Randy and Jimmy to arrive. We expect them to arrive around 11pm.

It was a VERY roll-y ride across the Neuse River today. Thank goodness it was a VERY short crossing. Once in the canal, we were fine, but BOY! were we rocking for a little while. The rest of the trip was smooth, against the current, but no worries.

Beaufort is proving to be as hospitable as the rest of NC, welcoming us with open arms! We plan to use Jimmy's truck in the morning to provision the boat, and to go out and shop for another anchor.

Our kind friends on "Pelican" (whom we met at the Deltaville Marina, and who we've been kind of travelling with) gave us an extra anchor that they have - just in case. It was a very kind gesture, and we will be seeing them along the way to ensure we give them back their anchor. But this gives us a bit more peace of mind.

The next move will be planned out by the boys once they are all together tonight / tomorrow morning. They will decide if they go offshore, or stay in the ICW.

I will be left to drive the car for a bit, so I'll be living the highlife! (the landlubber's life) - as much as possible in a truck. Hello Holiday Inn and LONG HOT SHOWERS!!! 😊

Not sure what our next move will be....will try to keep y'all up to date, as much as possible!

We are having a blast! Even though it's a bit chilly. It just gives us a huge push to keep moving SOUTH!!!!
