Sun festival, Plaza de Armas We were lucky indeed ! We didn't know the Sun Festival happened to be on our day of arrival. Mere coincidence! Is this called a 'pleasant surprise?'
Priceless photo Thank you MJ...Indeed, I don't get too many opportunities to cuddle a goat; the lady was happy to let me hold the goat for the photo op. But, the little one was more interested to see the dance than be part of the photo op....
Lima Wonderful you are so far enthralled with historical Peru, Tab. We also found it fascinating. So much to see and do. Looking forward to seeing where you go next.
Lima Dave, Thank you for your comment. I know from your last mail, you would be closely observing where I go next. And knowing fully well that a veteran and history buff like you (I read your Bolivia journey so well in the past) sets the bar high, So I am careful when I travel and write. It's a lifelong learning from folks like you, David and MJ and so many others! I am trying to meet expectation!!! Thanks again!
Exploring Lima Love looking at your photos. You are bringing back some great memories. In a month we'll be landing in Africa and you'll feel the same way. Although you will be there again very soon.
Exploring Lima Hi MJ, thank you for liking the photos. I am sure the images will walk you down the memory lane much faster than any blog - pictures worth of thousand words! Oh yeah, you will be soon in Africa! October, right? Yeeeye..Dave and MJ will be in Africa! Would love to see your pics... Then it would be my turn!!
I feel like I was there! I like how descriptive you are with every place you visit! I feel like I am taken into a story! Your writing is exciting yet calming at the same time. I look forward to reading more.
I feel like I was there Lexi, thank you for your appreciation and accolade. Means a lot to me. I try to engage my readers through my narratives, I try to translate what I saw through my pens. When I see they loved it, it makes my day! Thank you!
Just a taste When heading to a dream destination it is always great to get a taste of pivotal destinations on the way. Nice you could spend some time to leave the airport and get a hint of what Mexico City has to offer. Enjoy Peru, Tab. There are heaps of interesting places and things to do. I'll be interested to see what delights you have included in your itinerary.
Just a taste! You are so right Dave! It is always great to taste a different place and culture en-route. It is indeed a bonus for me. I recall once I stopped San Salvador on my way to Costa Rica. Simply loved it!
Regarding Peru, I know I will be preaching to converted - our Dancing Dave. Regardless, please read those....it will be interesting to have your insight. That's what it motivates me to write - people's comments and their views!
Mexico City We just had a touch and go, MJ.....I'm sure there are plenty to see. Plan to do sometimes, not sure when I can...there are so many in the bucket list. You must be getting ready for your Africa trip in October....will follow your footstep soon in November.
My father grew up amid the green hills of Assam in India. When I was a little boy, I went with him to see the vastness of nature, holding his hand. He is the one who instilled the love for nature in me; everything I love in nature today, I owe to him.
I have lived in Canada for many years now, but my love for nature and the outdoors is everlasting. Travelling and photography are my passions. Although I visit tourist areas, I rarely spend time there unless there are historic interests. I often travel off the beaten paths of jungles, mountains and rural areas. While travelling to such places... full info
