Tuesday 29th June Time to move on today and go to Tergensee - dinghy terroritory. 6 hour drive so more sleep for me so I don’t have to see the high speed journey down the autobahn. Cant believe how much we are both missing work ! not ! - Got here around 3.30 full erection by 5pm and off to explore surroundings in the car. Cycle in to town looks good for tomorrow , nice esplanade down by the lake. Chilling at camp restaurant this evening - 32 degrees today - too hot to move. Weds 30th June Didn’t get up till 10 am - have to get up when its too hot , went out for a drive in the car - despite Steve saying this is not going to be a supermarket we went ... read more

Friday/Saturday25th/26th Stopped in Hull for tea - on last minute as always - last check in 7.30 we made 7.35 and ended up being security searched - apparently as long as you have no animals or deadly weapons you are OK so the 15 illegal immigrants in storage boxes and the 4kg grade 1 uncut crack cocaine were fine !!!! Absolutely gutted - cheesy cabaret on boat replaced by football on big screen No probs getting free of the port but good job we had sat nav to warn us of a 77 min delay. Arrived without a speeding ticket for once and have a good pitch at the side of the Rhine - We are the only English in the village - think we may be watching the football in our tent tomorrow!. Chilled out ... read more

Thursday 26th June Have got more British people on the campsite now we are getting nearer home . Spoke to a couple over the road in a campervan who came from Pickering - the husband was Ron AKA Captain Birds Eye due to beard - they were interested in our BBQ as they want to purchase one . Next door we have a couple from the west country around aged 25 who like to use the word whimsical in sentences and don’t seem to want to interact with anyone. A potty new Zealand bird stopped for a chat on the way to the showers - Steve didn’t seem to mind as she had a couple of attributes that warmed her to him! Decided to cycle to Knokke Heist which was 15 miles away - the stamina ... read more

Monday 23rd June Woke up to some sunshine today but not glorious - knees aching after yesterdays ride so a driving tour today put together by my good self. Saarburg followed by a stop at the view of the Saar bow , a visit to the wolf park and back through the countryside to camp. Also plan to get wood to make a fire to keep us warm into the night ! . All went well - campsite really is dead now weekend is over so shop was shut . Parked up at Saarburg station and walked into town - quiet delightful with a waterfall in the middle surrounded by cafes at which Steve proceeded to demolish a local apple strudel £ 5.00 !! Whilst being serenaded by an accordian player who was little over 4 ... read more

Weds 17th June Got up at 10am weather a lot cooler today so what was going to be a lazy day at the pool is going to be a bike ride into Salo . Managed to get out of the house by 2 o clock after Steve had insisted on getting the car ready for tomorrows move on - good news is Dave and Pauline are making tea again tonight so we don’t need to get back till 7pm . Cycled down the hill to Salo and round to Riveria de Garda and then back to Salo for a drink - managed to get a can of Coke for $3.50 - should have bought it from the supermarket and sat on the beach like a chav! The hill back up wasn’t as bad as expected Blackpool ... read more

Saturday 13th June The highlight of today was discovering that the bikes were locked together and the keys had gone missing ! As I don’t deal with that sort of thing it could not be my fault - or could it! We hunted all around the tent and surrounding area/ toilets/ shop etc nowhere to be found - so as we were off for a drive anyway we decided to look for a B & Q !!! for tools to do the job and another bike lock - some chance when we cant even find an open supermarket. Drove to Krk town and spotted some bags of compost and cement and went into the shop - man behind counter didn’t speak a word of English so many hand gestures later we are now the proud owners ... read more

Thursday 11th June Got up and got bikes ready to go to Supermarket - Steve had a flat tyre - new inner tube had a faulty valve so we had to walk the bikes in to town - the supermarket on camp was closed for some reason - a reason which became apparent when going to all the other supermarkets in town - who were also shut ! Someone is conspiring against us saving any money. We then saw a gathering of people singing hymns and it turns out today is a national holiday in Croatia for Corpus Christi - for those non catholics amongst us that is a mass and a ceremonial procession. where the attendants carry the body of Christ. The procession has four stations at which they announce the gospels at four ends ... read more

Friday 5th June ·Traffic delayed on M62 thought we weren’t going to make it , however arrived at 7 .15 - 15 mins before deadline- in queue next to a German women in as green cinquecento that appeared to have paid £296 to go and get a pot of daisies from an English garden centre. Got to cabin and turned out to have bunk beds when we worked out the second one was folded into the roof! - Went to bar played scrabble - band appeared to be OK - bar staff were really friendly and actually appeared to want to chat to customers ( and alter their scrabble tiles when they went to the toilet !!) - was asked by two German fellows why their cans of Guinness were rattling - how do you explain ... read more
