Orchids are the sloths of flowers I had this realization as I've been watching my orchid bloom since (if you count growing the flower stem) just before Christmas. As of now, the seventh of 11 flowers is set to open in the next few days. The whole process is agonizingly slow by our own circadian standards, but it is a beautiful one, as you already know and appreciate. So I had this idea about orchids and sloths and thought, I'll bet I'm not the first person to make this connection, so I Googled it. That's the story of how I found this blog post. I love the pictures. Yes. Sloths and orchids. Orchids and sloths. They are the same
Eloquent Probably I would not have thought of a spider monkey as eloquent before but your sharing of this story has opened my heart to eloquence of intention and motivation. That was such a pure moment of reaching out and acceptance. Beautifully conveyed, my friend. I have a poem about hands much like your opening words, in feeling! Sending love! Thank you for this!
Another one??? What??? Another scorpion? How rude!! I'm afraid that those buggers would have me packing up and heading home, maybe?! Hopefully you didnt get stung this time.
Brave soul. I would have screamed bloody murder and fled the room. I have an unatural fear of spiders. I know a scorpion is not an arachnid but still. It is the only living creature I will kill w/o any guilt
Like Being There Thanks so much for this! I love reading about your experiences because of your insights and ability to give me the details that I love. Love and miss you Denise!
I get it I totally get it, Denise. As I have gotten older, the pull of traveling has been tempered by the pull-back of staying with the familiar. I hate the day or two leading up to the departure. It is so stressful. But once on the plane or on the road, all is good. I applaud your adventurous soul. You are an inspiration! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures.
Too exciting! I was just wondering when! And now I know. I have such mixed feelings but predominantly I'm just so happy for you! You will definitely feel very out of reach. But I hope to be able to come see you someday.
Love you and always thinking of you! deb
