Why is it that you never appreciate what is on your doorstep? We have ben lucky to swan around the world and marvel at wonders both modern and ancient, natural and man-made yet when I realised that a blog was in order to record the events of my sister-in-law's birthday, I had to take my trusted camera for a blog without pictures...is just words!!!

Starting to taken photos and think about what I'm taking made me realise that Liverpool has a lot to offer by way of tourist attractions, remarkable and characteristic buildings. The Liverpool skyline has long been synonomous with those of Sydney and New York. The sillouette is unmistakeable.

Liverpool may not have the sharp jagged mountains of Bora Bora or the majesty that is the Golden Gate bridge. No, we have the Runcorn Bridge and on a clear day you can see Moel Famau!!!

This long day seemed over in 5 minutes. Must be due to the good company, beautiful scenes and excellent food!!

I hope you enjoy this snapshot of 'down by the riverside' of my home town.
