We’re settling in nicely to the rhythm of Nyons – getting up late, leisurely breakfast, trip to a market somewhere (today in Tulette, not far from Nyons), then some sort of afternoon activity & late dinner incorporating local produce and wines…not hard to take!! At the market today, we used our limited but improving French to purchase delicious olives, pimiento tapenade, fresh bread, fruit & veg & chicken. After lunch we drove up a very steep mountain to a walk called Les Bois des Lumieres – a few kms in forest culminating in a magnificent vista over the local area. We had our first real conversation in French with some mature-aged local walkers. Managed to make some of it understood and vice versa so we were pretty happy. They shouted “Vive Australia” as we left. Yay...my
