Nyons
View from the apartment We farewelled our fellow cyclists and headed back to our car via the French transport system. A local bus took us to Nimes Railway Station where we boarded a train to Avignon. A short bus ride later we were at the Tour Philippe-le Bel in Villeneuve-les-Avignon where we had parked our car for no charge for a week. Mercifully, the car and a large proportion of our luggage were still there! After lunch in a shady café we journeyed 75km north to Nyons in the Rhone-Alpes where we’ll spend the next month.
Our host Arlette had spent a month in our unit in Birchgrove last November as part of a home exchange. She greeted us warmly and showed us around her lovely unit. It is in a beautiful spot overlooking Nyons and the surrounding mountains and it has a large outdoor terrace area…I’m sure we’ll be very happy here.
