Custard
Hopefully you have or will sample Dairy Queen custard - all over the Midwest and beyond - home-based in Mpls. ALso, don't know if you are going to Milw (my hometown) or not, but Leon's custard on 27th St and Oklahoma Ave (south end of town) is an icon - a drive-in place out of the 1940's - their butter pecan soft serve custard in amazing.

Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
Fascinating about Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery and your connection to it. I had never heard of it before and had to look it up since both David and I (coming from military families) have a deep respect for those who gave their lives in service. We have made a point of paying our respect to several military cemeteries when traveling.

Spelling Medbery
My limited experience with "Medbery" would lead me to think it was not so much that the owners changed the spelling as that others spelled it differently and it was often too difficult or impossible to get it changed. How many times in your life have you said "one r"? Can you imagine Deborah and Hezekiah wanting to take on the challenge of getting new tombstones after their children's names had been incorrectly chiseled into granite?

Again..pictures worth a thousand words
Here is where a picture of she who shall remain nameless other than referenced by two X chromosomes would have been priceless. Hugs to J and L.

Pain relief
When the World's greatest authority on pain management was asked, following an international conference on the subject which he had led on crutches, what he took for pain relief, he responded, "a stiff drink and two aspirin." If it's good enough for the World's greatest authority, it ought to be good enough for my brother! "

Capri
After your description of Capri, I need to add this to my bucket list, it sounds so beautiful and romantic. I wish I were there...except for the Italian rendition of YMCA and Macho Man (it's a bad visual). Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing these with us, Buddy!
I'm enjoying your blog(s). I have nothing to contribute except maybe a Croatian phrase I learned from some guy I dated in the 90's. It's probably best I keep it to myself, as I've received a gasp-type reaction when I've said it once before. So back to my point, I have nothing to contribute. Keep the blogs coming. We enjoy them. Love and miss you guys. Lovelle,

Good description!
Wow! This is a magnificient description of Trieste. Its name always makes me think of "Triste", which means sad in Italian. Trieste is located in a very beautiful landscape.
