Dirty tapas bars.
You have to use the dirt to your advantage, the messier the place the better more customers etc... Bad places are empty. I prefer Madrid, seems to be a real city, did you take side trip to Toledo etc... Barcelona seemed to be geared toward tourism cruise ships etc... Pricier as well. Great train system as well Madrid . Ok see you when get back safe trip.

I liked Barcelona better than Madrid. I think being by the water but having the city was a hit for me. Madrid is all "city" but a much easier walking city than Rome. Every "Plaza" is pretty central. My faves of the trip I would have to say is Rome and Barcelona - Rome for all the history and everything there was to see there and Barcelona because it was just that COOL :)

Travel through your eyes!
You are so correct! I am very happy with your blog! I'm traveling through your eyes!! Seeing these beautiful cities!! And of course seeing both of you!! I'm so mad at those people on the train and the taxi old man!! You find a jerk everywhere!!! Absolutely, you had to stand your grounds being a "tourist" does not equal "idiot". Imbecils!! In Cuba our big day was also Christmas Eve, movies etc.. on Christmas Day, since we celebrate on January 6, the "three kings day" which is when the gifts are exchanged and it is "them" who leave the presents under the tree. Love and kisses! We are all good. I'm sick again, sore throat, etc... but managing, thank God. :0)

Florence and Sienna comments
I remember not being too thrilled with Florence because it was pretty small and the Duomo was under construction when we were there also, same scaffolding, lol. It was probably alot more crowded then since it was July. And Sienna was nice and the country side is beautiful in Tuscany anywhere you drive. Changes from wine vineyards to wheat fields to olive groves . Billy said the worst meal we had was in Sienna but I don't remember. I remember wandering the streets with Laurie and Steph and I remember them going into the "Torture Museum". That is where they have the Palio Horse race every year in July ,in that big square and I think where they filmed parts of Twilight's Breaking Dawn Part 1. Glad you liked Sienna and you would have loved Cortona and the Chianti area and more of Tuscany I think. Hope you are enjoying Rome. I hope you called Elisa because Laurie said she wanted to meet you. Zoe is good, still under bed but he's eating and coming out a little more during the day but only for a few minutes and never in the Living Room.
