Dirty tapas bars. You have to use the dirt to your advantage, the messier the place the better more customers etc... Bad places are empty. I prefer Madrid, seems to be a real city, did you take side trip to Toledo etc... Barcelona seemed to be geared toward tourism cruise ships etc... Pricier as well. Great train system as well Madrid . Ok see you when get back safe trip.
Madrid vs Barcelona? Nice photo's. So which did you like better Madrid or Barcelona? Both look like great walking and eating cities. I know the journey is almost over so enjoy the rest of your travels and we'll see you soon. Safe trip home. Love Mom
I liked Barcelona better than Madrid. I think being by the water but having the city was a hit for me. Madrid is all "city" but a much easier walking city than Rome. Every "Plaza" is pretty central. My faves of the trip I would have to say is Rome and Barcelona - Rome for all the history and everything there was to see there and Barcelona because it was just that COOL :)
Thanks for sharing I think I have to get to Spain real soon. The food looks amazing and the churches not so bad either, lol. Can't believe I haven't been there yet, it's always been on my wish list. Now it's a must do!! Can't wait to hear about Madrid. Nice New Year's Eve photo's of the two of you through the mirror, good idea. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Barcelona Updates I am sure you are having too much fun and staying out too late to give us new updates and photo's from Barcelona. Was waiting to see more photo's and to hear about New Year's Eve. I think you are in Madrid now? Keep us posted when you get a minute.
Happy New Year! Love Mom and Zoe!

Mercados Barcelona y Madrid Must check out markets in both cities. In Barcelona the Boquiera off the Ramblas. In Madrid Mercardo San Miguel start your tapas tour there and head south to cava Baja. It's off calle mayor.
Barcelona Hi Guys
I have a restaurant recommendation for you in Barcelona , Cerveceria Catalana it's north of the Ramblas it's off Ramblas Catalunya it's on carrer de Mallorca 236. Really great Tapas if you get there early eat at the bar. Pics look great. Don't forget Cava Baja (all tapas bars on one street) in Madrid. Go to a flamenco show in Madrid as well. Corral de la Moreria. Www.corraldelamoreria.com ok keep posting. Also in Madrid. Bar D 'Oro
Your Updates Glad you made it safely to Spain and it appears it may be more your speed. I am happy you enjoyed Rome because it is a beautiful city with so much history. I look forward to reading your likes and dislikes in Spain. I know the food and Sangria will be hits. Will look for more in the next few days. Enjoy.
Travel through your eyes! You are so correct! I am very happy with your blog! I'm traveling through your eyes!! Seeing these beautiful cities!! And of course seeing both of you!! I'm so mad at those people on the train and the taxi old man!! You find a jerk everywhere!!! Absolutely, you had to stand your grounds being a "tourist" does not equal "idiot". Imbecils!! In Cuba our big day was also Christmas Eve, movies etc.. on Christmas Day, since we celebrate on January 6, the "three kings day" which is when the gifts are exchanged and it is "them" who leave the presents under the tree. Love and kisses! We are all good. I'm sick again, sore throat, etc... but managing, thank God. :0)
Florence and Sienna comments I remember not being too thrilled with Florence because it was pretty small and the Duomo was under construction when we were there also, same scaffolding, lol. It was probably alot more crowded then since it was July. And Sienna was nice and the country side is beautiful in Tuscany anywhere you drive. Changes from wine vineyards to wheat fields to olive groves . Billy said the worst meal we had was in Sienna but I don't remember. I remember wandering the streets with Laurie and Steph and I remember them going into the "Torture Museum". That is where they have the Palio Horse race every year in July ,in that big square and I think where they filmed parts of Twilight's Breaking Dawn Part 1. Glad you liked Sienna and you would have loved Cortona and the Chianti area and more of Tuscany I think. Hope you are enjoying Rome. I hope you called Elisa because Laurie said she wanted to meet you. Zoe is good, still under bed but he's eating and coming out a little more during the day but only for a few minutes and never in the Living Room.
Italy pictures Hi!! the photos are stunning!!! You look so pretty and happy!! And my son looks so handsome, specially on the photo where he is serious with a beer in front, very handsome!! Venice looks amazing!! So much history in that old architecture!! Continue having fun at all your destinations!! I love you; Mom
We are following your blog so keep it up. We pulled it up on Billy's tv yesterday and Lynn spotted Alberto and keep saying Hi to him and you. Looking forward to the next post from Rome.
I have to say that I was reluctant to start a travel blog...too much work...who would read it?....just laziness I suppose! Well I now have to admit that it's the best thing we could have done. I am very happy to have found this site because it gave a lot of our friends and family a chance to 'travel' with us and now we have something to print out that is so cool for us to read, when we are home, to refresh our own memories. This site is really amazing ....so thorough and practical and informative not only to the bloggers but to future bloggers and their readers.... full info
